Israel has no interest in the Gaza strip or the West Bank as much as They want Lebanon |
I’m reading Nancy Pelosi’s memoir (btw, so disappointing so far, I was hoping for details about her upbringing and early political career and all it is 1/4 way through is a recap of old news articles). Anyway, I am at the point t where he is discussion 9/11 and how the attack was so unexpected (despite the July report, despite the fact that the Guardian in 1999 had a 2 - page spread about Bin. Laden and his intentions). I remember how after 9/11 I thought of several ways the US was extremely vulnerable to more attacks (I don’t want to highlight here to give anyone ideas!) those remain vulnerabilities. I hope people realize that the Muslim hate incidents and continued funding to Israelto kill more people leaves us very vulnerable here at home! This is not just a conflict on foreign shores. It can very easily come here and harm us. |
I hope that is not true. |
And to put things in perspective the 9/11 perforator’s were Saudis. Not Palestinians or Lebanese. But it is not far fetched to think future attacks might come from these population given that we have paid $$ to kill and maimed their family members. |
Do you not remember the 1983 Islamic Jihad attacks on Americans? Those were done by Lebanese terrorists who later merged with Hezbollah. Israel just killed the commander who masterminded those attacks. |
It is true. There was a time long ago where Lebanese liked Israelis more than Palestinians. They didn’t understand Palestinian objection to partition/Jewish immigration and The religious drama as they live with a split multifaith unity government and had many French and Armenian expats. Israel doesn’t know how to be nice to people that are nice to them. Lebanon famously abstained from the 1948, 1967 Arab Israeli war much to the criticism of their Arab League neighbors who mockingly called them Switzerland and blamed Lebanon for being weak. Some people believed the war outcome could’ve been very very different for Israel if Lebanon invaded from the North. They never fought each other till the 80s. Israel owes lots of its earlier security before the U.S. came in to protect them to Lebanon but it seems like Israel never realized that. They want a regional war/gang up at this point. Do they think they can handle an attack from The North, the South/Gaza, and the West (WB or Iran) all at the same time? Netanyahu is acting erratically and foolishly for political points |
Reagan didn’t attack and curiously did nothing to Israel’s shock. He didn’t want to fight Hezbollah and Iran for Jews |
And Trump won’t either |
There are other responses that don’t require blowing people up remotely while they are mingling with civilians. Ceasefire with Gaza is an option that actually would make Jews safer . This continued violence is stirring up more hate. |

This is literally all bullshit. |
Um, obviously. But the reality is that even if we cut off Israel completely, Muslim extremists would still still hate America. Why? They hate all westerners and our western ways. ICYMI: anyone bananas enough to kill in the name of religion hates all of us normal people. They basically only accept those who adhere to their special breed of religious fanaticism. Moreover, they don’t need to sneak into the country because some of them are already here. |
+1 Israel has not attacked Lebanon or the Lebanese people. Israel has undertaken precise action against the terrorists in Hezbollah who were actively plotting against Israel with massive support from Iran. Unlike Gaza where Hamas enjoys broad support, the majority of people in Lebanon detest Hezbollah and the threat they’ve always presented. I mean, who wants to live under oppressive religious dictates? |
Israel has had many people who kill in the name of religion. Don't forget that their current minister of national security is a religious extremist who has repeatedly praised Baruch Goldstein, who massacred 29 innocent people and wounded over 100 more in the name of religion. Shortly before the murder of Rabin, Ben-Gvir stole the car ornament from Rabin's car and said "We got to his car, and we'll get to him too." And he has an actual conviction for supporting terrorism. https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2023/02/15/israel-ben-gvir-netanyahu-government/ |
Yes, and Bin Laden's stated hatred of the US was because of our support for Israel. I am NOT being antisemitic - I am Jewish - I am just stating documented facts. While I support Israel's right to exist w/in UN approved borders, I think going beyond that has jeopardized not just Israeli citizens but also US citizens. My fear is that our politicians are so scared of being labeled antisemitic and subject to attack the way countless people have in the last year for speaking up for Palestinians / out against Israeli military actions, that they are not recognizing how much hatred their positions have stirred up in the middle east (and those from the region). |
