He does not have a stutter. He had a stroke caused by a blood clot. He is also not releasing his medical records. If he wants to be re-categorized as disabled have at it, but there is a big difference between a speech impediment caused by anxiety and one cause by a debilitating medical condition that cut off oxygen to his brain.

+100. I am a liberal dem in PA and voted for Fetterman in the primary, and will in the general, but am very upset at how his campaign has refused to release medical records. They downplayed the severity of the stroke for months. And it will be horrible if because of this many voters flock to Oz, and PA ends up with Mastriano for governor too.

He just released a statement from his doctor, I believe, last week.

A statement from his doctor (who contributed to his campaign, BTW) is not medical records. They have not released a cognitive test. The letter written by his doctor did not include a prognosis for what can be expected in the future. It has very little information about the effects Fetterman is suffering as a result of his stroke.

Given that the stroke was over 5 months ago, it is quite possible that where he is now may be the best it is going to be for him.

"A statement from his doctor (who contributed to his campaign, BTW) is not medical records."

Oh, the irony of this statement. It wasn't that long ago that your carnival barker of a leader presented a doctor's letter (that he dictated) in lieu of medical records. If it was good enough for him, it's good enough for Fetterman!

What another load of crap.

Fetterman is essentially applying for a position. A position of power. He has had a stroke. The effects of that stroke are still very evident 5 months later.
The voters of PA have every right to seek more information about his condition and his prognosis. And, not only the voters in PA - votes made in the Senate affect ALL Americans.
PA residents should also be concerned that their current Lt. Gov. appears to have issues that may affect his ability to perform his current job.

Replace "Fetterman" with Trump and change the letter from one drafted by the doctor to one drafted by the candidate and you have 2016.

Hypocrite.

Trump acts like he is having a stroke (covefefe, windmills)/mental illness/dictator delusions ALL THE TIME, but you all do fealty to him still (don't tell me you don't, your reps have been making pilgrimages to his palaces for a while.

At this point, I'd be happy to vote for a crash test dummy with a Democrat sticker. At least I know that my vote will not go to someone who willingly participates in the current GOP nonsense.

And no, the GOP can't do anything about inflation. Politicians like to pretend they can.

Yes, I would indeed vote for a crash test dummy if it was the only alternative to a rethuglican. I’m not the least bit ashamed to say that.

You're similar to Republicans in that regard. Hence, you might get Senator Oz and Senator Walker

Sorry but even for some conservatives it has to be an pro choice crash test dummy. No to Oz and No to walker

PP here. Not saying i would vote for them, but it is the same mindset.

Well there is a difference: we know Fetterman is improving, getting better, and can potentially make a full recovery. And we know Oz is a dishonest snakeoil carpetbagging crook and will never change.

I'll roll the dice with the guy who has a temporary disability.

Most stroke recovery occurs in the first few months. Fetterman is who he is and is likely to be suffering at least from aphasia for the remainder of his life.

At this point of US political life, I go with "trust until proven otherwise" with Democrats and "doubt until proven otherwise" with republicans... track record says that I am in good path!

Zero to indicate, even a little bit, that he's not.

Oz was up by 3 points in the latest poll taken just before the debate.

Ummm, not good for Fetterman. Not good at all.

What poll is that?

If you check 538, the latest polls including three that ended a few days ago (10/23 and 10/24) show Fetterman up +2, +5 and +4. The Franklin and Marshall poll taken ending 10/25 shows Fetterman up +1. The best that Oz has polled was one poll release 10/20 which shows them tied at 46% each. I have found no record of any poll showing Oz up at any time in the last month.

Don’t more conservative voters vote in-person? If so, wouldn’t Oz potentially get a bump up late in the game?

It’s unbelievable that any reasonably intelligent person would even consider voting for Fetterman. The alternative isn’t great but at least he has the cognitive ability to understand the issues and communicate his thoughts. Putting Fetterman through this electoral process seems cruel.

Why would any reasonably intelligent person vote for someone whose policies are COMPLETELY AGAINST what that reasonably intelligent person believes?

And why would any reasonably intelligent person vote for a charlatan who made money off of quackery?

You do you. It's unbelievable to me that anyone would vote for someone as dishonest and devoid of morals as Oz is.

I would rather have a senator who cannot speak at all than one who speaks only lies. My vote goes to Fetterman.

"Vote blue no matter who."
Or, in this case, regardless if the person serving can actually do the job.

Fetterman has collapsed on PredictIt. Hugely.

The debate is going down in history. It was never about policy. But whether the Democratic Party did deliberately orchestrate a cover up around the stroke and suppressed it and lied to voters about it aided and abetted by the media. A lot of damage was done and many people will not forget it.

If people were grown ups, Fetterman should have stepped aside after the stroke and another primary held. There was plenty of time. But it's clear senior Democratic operatives and the Fetterman campaign had talks to hide the extent of the stroke damage and with plans to either push him aside after the election for the new governor to appoint his wife or someone safe to the seat, or even just have his wife be the de factor senator.

A great deal of dishonesty was revealed with the debate. And it's a shame. It made a mockery out of the political system.

I agree with you PP. It's almost like it's the same poster, posting the same thing over and over again, like h/she is a paid shill.
