I’ll go a step further and say I think the national D party is throwing in the towel on Terry. They can read the tea leaves too and it’s not worth the risk of the precarious position of the D slim lead in the House going into ‘22 to fall on a sword for him.

Can you share the name of local pollsters I should follow? I'd like some updates.

As for McAuliffe versus Youngkin - Youngkin just seems to have it together more, understand the needs of the populace better and is down to earth. Its weird to say but McAuliffe doesn't even seem like he lives in Virginia or has been here for the past two years. The man's a former Governor and no one seems to vibe with him, how is that even possible?

What worries me about McAuliffe is that he personally has no principles, while the Democratic Party as a whole in Virginia has veered far left. I want checks and balances on the locals running school boards and that’s the last thing he’s going to provide - in fact, he owes his political career to the same types of hacks who elevate performative acts of wokeness over competence and a focus on the basics. Since the Democrats are likely to remain in control of the state House of Delegates, having someone to balance their influence is important. My vote goes to Youngkin.

Exactly. Mc will indulge the lunatic fringe currently at the helm of the Democratic Party. Also, though I never thought I’d favor things like school choice, the past year changed my mind. I really wanted (and want) an option other than my public school which obviously privileged every concern other than their main mission, educating students.

Biden, Kamala, Obama et al expend political capital when they actively campaign for local candidates. They all came out to rallies for Terry, Terry loses and it’s a big negative reflection on them because they are pegged with a loser. Yes, they were all here last week in a last ditch attempt to save him, but watch them all to run like cockroaches when the lights come on as soon as he really starts to tank. Not to mention, watch the money. Youngkin has pulled in more in the last 2 weeks than Terry has, by a substantial margin. That’s a real sign the party big wigs are giving up and moving on to another race.
