Consolidated VA Elections Thread

Virginia under the democratic governors has been a pretty well run state with reasonable taxes. Some of the things people are complaining about - permits, school things - are local elections. I made some non-D choices in my local elections, but for the state and federal, no way would I vote for what passes as the Republican Party today.

Yep and he can't seem to point to any accomplishments or efforts to highlight which is why people aren't voting for him. He's a Clinton campaign hack and the last thing we need right now - straight liars.

So you say and no. It wasn't Youngkin's campaign that had party operatives standing out in the rain under opposition property trying to fabricate a falsehood. LIARS.

Youngkin tells different people different things. What do you call that? Variable honesty?

What worries me about McAuliffe is that he personally has no principles, while the Democratic Party as a whole in Virginia has veered far left. I want checks and balances on the locals running school boards and that’s the last thing he’s going to provide - in fact, he owes his political career to the same types of hacks who elevate performative acts of wokeness over competence and a focus on the basics. Since the Democrats are likely to remain in control of the state House of Delegates, having someone to balance their influence is important. My vote goes to Youngkin.

What funding is he planning to cut in order to pay for increased education funding while also slashing state tax revenues? I can’t find any explanation from the Youngkin campaign of how that math is supposed to work.

He will cut Equity Officers and Directors, Assistant Vice Principals for Kindness, Vice Principals for Outreach to the Trans Community, Social Workers for Outreach to the Gay Community, Assistant Teacher's Union Reps for Outreach to the Questioning Community, and the Special Assistant for scheduling three hours of instruction instead of eight hours.

It didn’t happen for Biden in 2020. Didn’t happen during the California recall. And now it’s not happening for McAulliffe.

I have no desire to attend a rally while my toddler is still unvaccinated. Meanwhile, I quietly make my donations around the country and cast my vote locally.

Keep thinking that rally size means anything. All it tells me is that those not worried about a pandemic support Youngkin. No shocker there.

LMFAO.

Then you are a fool. No other word for it. We all know that this is an election with enormous national implications- otherwise why is Terry trying to save his sinking ship with the likes of Kamala, that horrendous Stacey Abrams, Biden and Obama?

Don’t care. I’d literally vote for Satan himself even if he promised to eat my firstborn the next day before I’d vote for a republican.

That's awesome, comrade! We are relying on your!!!

IKR. But to be fair, it would probably be doing the world a favor if she let Satan eat her kid before it entered the head start to prison pipeline.

It seems like the local Democratic pundits/pollsters (not the party hacks) are throwing in the towel on McAuliffe. He’s been passed by someone running a much smarter, more positive campaign, and since McAuliffe isn’t about anything but the hustle, that tells you something.

The biggest blunder was thinking that folks who’ve been dealing with lockdowns for 18 months really wanted to hear Debbie Downer dreck for months, aimed at someone whose novelty, cheery disposition, and inclusivity makes those comparisons particularly inapt.

Anonymous wrote:If Democrats really care about equity they will vote for McAuliffe. He’s serious about taking heat off local school boards by requiring boundary changes to get the right amount of socioeconomic and racial integration in schools. They will have to comply or accreditation and state funding goes bye-bye.

He is even going to make sure that affordable housing gets built where there is none now to help with this.

It’s bold, actually historic and when you read his plan you see he is serious!

Please say this is a troll post...

It reads like one, doesn't it?
But, I think pp is totally serious. Kind of frightening that there are people out there who value "equity" and "diversity" at the expense of competence and freedom.
Love the... "they will have to comply....." statement. Something straight out of some dictatorial regime.
