No, there are literally right-wing groups openly doing this. One infiltrated the TJ PTA and imploded it.

DP. What on earth are you babbling about? Links? The Coalition for TJ isn't "right-wing." They are fighting to keep TJ's admission standards selective. I don't even have kids at TJ, but can completely understand why the admissions standards shouldn't be watered down in the name of "diversity."

Parents Defending Education (definitely right-wing/Koch associates) had an exec member on the TJ PTA and coordinated to install a new president.

Any actual reputable links proving a Koch association? No? Then I guess you're lying. Again.

Sure.

Parents Defending Education is full of Koch associates and Trump activists. Here is the board:

Nomani is a Trump/Youngkin activist:
https://www.npr.org/2016/11/12/501853618/muslim-woman-immigrant-and-trump-supporter

Nomani was elected as secretary to the TJ PTA and helped support the election of the current president in a dramatic takeover. They did all kinds of shady stuff as part of the PTA. I’ll have to dig up those old posts too.

There’s definitely something shady about any parent defending education.

I stand with Democrats, especially childless ones, who want to dismantle and disrupt systems of hierarchy and oppression like science and technology magnet schools.

"There’s definitely something shady about any parent defending education."

Why would that be shady? Parents are supposed to advocate for this.

They aren’t really though. They just push GOP talking points/lies under the guise of “education”.

They DGAF about students, they just want your vote.

You're being dismissive about their concerns. Parents have every right to complain how things have been handled by the Democrats.

These aren’t just “parents” though. This isn’t just a “grassroots” organization.

This is a well-organized group of GOP political operatives pushing GOP taking points.

If they cared about students they wouldn’t work their way into PTA executive boards to include inflammatory messages in newsletters. They wouldn’t be pushing blatant lies in the name “education”.

Given the number of times people have been flat-out lied to by Democrats on the School Board your post falls flat. Not to mention, the supposedly non-partisan School Board members routinely campaign for Democratic candidates and show up at campaign events.

So just STFU with your faux concerns about parents who are “operatives” - they aren’t disqualified from holding views or advocating for their kids any more than anyone else.

It’s important to understand their motives and objectives. They are not looking out for kids, they are looking out for politicians. How are you ok with that?

It is very concerning that national organizations are f-ing around with our local schools, school boards, even PTAs. All in an effort to get Republicans elected NOT to help kids.

You can’t really be this dense. Parents are responding to the politicization of decisions affecting schools by far-left Democrats who are not just political operatives, but operatives holding ostensibly non-partisan offices.

Look at Karl Frisch, for example. He has no qualifications to serve on a local School Board. He has neither kids nor a college degree, but he’s planted on the School Board because he was a loyal party member and former low-level Democratic staff member on the Hill who made a good stooge.

Both political parties openly endorse candidates for school board. That is a transparent process, even if you don’t like the outcomes. The local orgs for Ds and Rs do it.

But these fake “grassroots” organizations try to appear like “parents” addressing education issues but they are actually national-level political activists trying to get their party elected. They are not transparent and are pushing blatant lies.

It’s not ok for them to use our kids as pawns.

I'm holding my nose and voting for Youngkin because I still can't believe the way our Democratic-run state and local governments screwed up education during COVID. They didn't follow the science, they don't care about learning loss, and any parent who expresses concern is immediately branded as a Trump-supporting troglodyte. We need some balance.

But if you call out his incompetence the local Democrats brand you a political operative and domestic terrorist

Liar. We call the people assaulting teachers and sending death threats “domestic terrorists”.

Not the OP, but I'm getting real tired of the left calling anyone who disagrees with them, "trolls." Get over yourself and acknowledge that many people think Democrats are the "anti-democracy party."

Listen, you can believe what we you want. No one who votes D is seriously contemplating Youngkin unless they are incredibly uninformed. Governors are responsible for much more than schools. Virginia is a nice place to live because we have had Democrats at the helm for some time. We did pretty well with the pandemic because we have good health care, and good government compared to the hellscape of red America. And let’s get this straight. Democrats didn’t try to overthrow congress and install a dictator. You did that.

Democrats’ gross mismanagement of the public schools is a real thing, whether you want to acknowledge it or not. Plenty of people are fed up and crossing party lines, since McAuliffe treats the likes of Omeish and Frisch as heroes.

The people that are crossing party lines were republicans in the last presidential election. Maybe some of them are going back to voting for republicans governors. But many are not. Keep dreaming.

I can’t speak for anyone else. But, not true for DH and I.

I’m not sure what part of what I said isn’t true for you. What point are you making because I made several.

Regardless, Virginia dems aren’t voting for Youngkin. Which is why I call troll on this entire thread. Republicans that voted Biden may swing back, but what can you really expect?

There are absolutely Democrats in Virginia, also Biden supporters, who voted or will vote for Youngkin. It’s our way to try to nudge the party back towards the center when other efforts have failed.

My spouse and I are two that will do so. It doesn't matter if posters believe that or not, because the results one way or the other will come out next week.

Whatever makes it easier for you to sleep at night. Just dont look too dumbfounded when the poll numbers dont coincide with reality...again. There are plenty of independent educated thinkers in Virginia. Most democrats dont agree with all democratic platform issues and most republicans dont agree with all conservative platform issues. I'm so glad Virginia doesnt require me to declare a party affiliation because I wouldnt be able to declare one. At each election, I have to look at the issues most important to me at the time. This time it's vaccine mandates, so I'm with Youngkin. It's simple.

It is unconscionable to vote for republicans in light of everything we know about how they race to the bottom on literally everything.

You are incorrect, and I see you haven't bothered to challenge the fact that Karl Frisch is a prime example of the type of Democratic party hack parents are expected to tolerate on a School Board, lest the local Democratic mandarins claim the parents are "national-level political activists" (at the same time as the local Democrats attempt to get the full force of the Federal Government to harass and intimidate parents).

There are more of us finally speaking up and pushing back - in some cases after years of quietly tolerating the nonsense imposed by the Democrats making decisions about education policy at the state and local level. It remains to be seen whether there are enough of us to tip this election in Youngkin's favor, but we will continue to cross party lines and continue speaking out more loudly when elected officials who ought to be listening to parents instead consistently ignore us.

This X1000. And that's not even their only awful decision. The incompetence and hypocrisy of local Democrats like Abrar Omeish, Laura Jane Cohen, Karen Corbett Sanders, Karl Frisch, and Elaine Tholen is just staggering. We can't vote them out until 2023, but we do have one election this fall where we can register our disgust.
