Ridiculous. If you are a woman surely similar incidents have happened to you? I can't even count the number of inappropriate and scary things that happened to me as a young woman. You really find this so hard to believe? That a privileged young partier thought he could do these things and it would be no big deal? It was just "rough horseplay", not like he raped someone. Right?

I am a woman, a moderate Democrat, and was sexually assaulted in college but that does not mean I have to believe every single other woman who claims she was, especially under these circumstances and all the embarrassing stunts my party has pulled the last couple months. Six FBI investigations and none of this ever came out. If he was the person many of you think he is at a bare minimum there would have been hints, rumors, suggestions, something that would have made the FBI investigate further and uncover something.

No, he RAPED you. I saw him! I swear!

Yeah, you two are not even brave enough to put your name on a DCUM post but you want us to believe you would endure the hell that Ford and Ramirez are facing?

We are conservatives - we endure that type of hell every single darn day these days. Except there's no 'go fund me' attached to it.

You are woefully uniformed about how background checks are conducted. They primarily look for shady sources of money and foreign contacts. They interview character witnesses provided by applicants (usually don’t say anything bad), along with interviewing colleagues and neighbors. None of these individuals would even know about incidents in high school or college.

+1000. The scandal here is the media circus and utter embarrassing behavior of liberals rushing to believe these vague accusations. I’m completely disgusted.

Just the Presidency, Congress, and the board room at most Fotune 500 companies. Yes, you’re the real victim.

Incorrect. Background checks are not limited to those matters.

McConnell and McGahn need to step in. It's not like Trump will pull out. And clearly Kavanaugh won't either. He's brilliant, and political, as his testimony demonstrated. He dedicated his life to this goal, and did amazing, and was days away. It's impossibly hard. But he has to get out of the spotlight now.

There are a lot of people sticking up for him -- and he owes it to them to let them off the hook. He owes it to his poor family, who would be forever changed by a hearing. And he owes it to his spot on the DC bench, at Harvard, and in all the circles he hopes to still move within.

It's indecent at this point. It's not all his fault. GOP, CRC, Federalist Society - the many ways they have botched the past week would be hilarious if it wasn't so depressing. Trying to speed up the hearing to beat Mayer & Farrow. Ventry. Whelan. Senators using 280 characters and Fox hits to fit every toe they can into their mouths. All this before Avenatti showed up.

Midterms are exactly 6 weeks away.

Amy Coney Barrett is ready. She is from nowhere near Bethesda. She is almost a decade younger. And yes, she is a She.

301 is done. Time to do 312.

Yeah, do you think he put down Mark Judge as a character witness? Bwah ha ha.

I don’t know about you, but my best friend from high school could definitely act as a character witness for me. I wouldn’t feel anxious about putting his name down for the FBI to contact.

Hasn't Ford asked for an investigation?
Isn't telling other people over the years such as a therapist a "hint rumor or suggestion"?
Isn't there now another woman who is claiming similar inappropriate drunken party behavior?
Why did Ford say that there was a witness in the room? One who isn't *her* friend and she obviously can't assume will back her side of the story?
Didn't that witness write a book describing exactly the drunken @ss grabbing culture that Ford claims?

I don't necessarily believe or disbelieve the women here. But a knee jerk reaction in either direction is wrong. We don't have to believe "every single other woman". We need to draw conclusions based on whatever facts we can confirm.

Also, I was not aware that the FBI did *six* investigations on Kavanaugh, and couldn't find this on google. Can you point me to a link that talks about that? Thanks.

Please explain what would motivate Dr. Ford and Deborah Ramirez to fabricate a story that they could be absolutely sure would upend their lives?

Trolls are out in full force now!

Latest lie: GOP as “victims” of “liberal” attacks, even though GOP controls POTUS and Congress!!

Vlad is still calling the shots!! That’s a Russian lie that’s all over the internet thanks to our Russian adversaries. Anything to divide Americans.

Why are these trolls posting on DCUM??

The only scary thing that happened to me was a sexual molestation at 13, and I told someone immediately. I was trapped in the man's house 3000 miles from home (visiting a family friend). He said his religion made me fair game when I said I was only 13. Other than that? Afraid not.

And even WITH that molestation, I do NOT believe these women simply because of my experience. That would be a highly illogical leap and would amount to an emotional smearing of an individual man's reputation. I DO now understand that certain religions look at women differently than others. Not every man, however, of that religious persuasion, would make the same decision my molester did.

DP. Are you serious? Both of them came to light close to the confirmation vote for Kavanaugh to be on the Supreme Court.
