He already was a 100% partisan who would rule based on the affiliation of the litigants rather than on the law. His whole legal career has been as a Federalist Society/Republican Party hack. He is fully invested in the GOP patronage network, which is the only reason he was nominated.

I find it interesting that the women (Ford, Ramirez) and their supporting witnesses almost all live outside the DC area now. DC insiders still don't want to talk and threaten their personal and professional reputations.

DP. Are you serious? Both of them came to light close to the confirmation vote for Kavanaugh to be on the Supreme Court.

That was their motivation, yes, to finally come forward because the stakes are so high. Neither woman wanted to come forward initially, but neither could countenance having a man with a history of sexual assault on the highest court in the land for life. That fear is, ultimately, what forced each of them to speak out.

They have zero to gain and much to lose from speaking out, whereas Kavanaugh has everything to gain by lying.

There is much evidence about his drinking in high school and college. He belonged to a secret society at Yale known for its mysogyny.

Yet the GOP wants to sweep all of this under the rug and confirm this man without investigating these claims and the evidence.

I hope this leads to a Democratic takeover of both the house and senate.
