The simple immediate answer is denying access to the British press and no longer participating in the ROTA system.

Future plans involve creating their own foundation (which they couldn’t do before) and working to generate an income (which they couldn’t do before.)

People who simply cry “racism “ at any slightest criticism of Markle do a real disservice to those who suffer from actual racism.

I agree. I'm being pragmatic about this. Did Meghan receive some press that could be construed as race, ie making fun of her because of her biracial background? Yes.

But she also received a lot of press flak for reasons that have nothing to do with race. Lots of it. It had to do with, oh, say, seeming entitled, seeming self-absorbed, complaining that no one was asking about her feelings while on tour to the poorest countries in the world, taking public money for a fancy renovation and then running away to Canada, marrying into the royal family that has extensive traditions of duty and public obligations and then turning her back to it and all that.

If you don't understand why much of her negative attention has little to do with race but with other elements and behaviors then I'm not sure what more is left to be said because we're just going around in a ring of denials.

Look - the girl married into the British royal family. They threw her a massive fancy wedding with all the pomp and ceremony. They even allowed her to customize the wedding to make it more "diverse." If they were racist, it wouldn't have happened in the first place.

Actually I care about Meghan Markle because she was raised by a single mom, was the subject of unrelenting emotional and psychological abuse at the hands of her father and half-siblings, which played out in front of the entire world -- what a shitty and crazy way to treat a daughter, to treat a half-sister!! Crazy and brutal and disgusting -- and yet she prevailed. She succeeded despite all odds, and she succeeded spectacularly.

And the Sussex will be in Copenhagen this year for the 2020 Invictus Games.

I wonder if the other royals will tour Canada since they are in residence though? In 2016 and 2017 the Cornwalls and the Cambridges were there. So its due for one now but with the Sussexs there it kind of makes sense for THEM to do the tour.
