How is the Supreme Court confirmation going to go?

Pathetic.

This is what I meant by cementing complacency in a lifetime appointment. There are many other examples where her ignorance and lack of brilliancy are apparent.

Does the American institution of government mean nothing anymore? They just give away the presidency, senate, scotus? Shameful.

Is easier to handle something well when you've been told the result is already set in stone no matter what you say or do.

What does this even mean?

Graham started the whole process yesterday by saying, "We're not going to persuade each other. The GOP will vote yes, the Dems will vote no."

Reminds me of the attitude he had around impeaching an unfit president. It’s time for him to GTFO.

the Constitution gives states the power to set the “times, places and manner” of elections, subject to Congress’s ultimate authority to “make or alter” state regulations. This means that while states have the power to enact rules around how elections for federal office are run, ultimately Congress can overrule the states. Congress has used this power in a number of ways including requiring states to ensure that military and overseas voters receive mail ballots in time for them to be able to vote.

Most importantly, more than 100 years ago, Congress set, by federal statute, the date on which congressional elections are to be held as the Tuesday following the first Monday in November. Neither the president nor a state can alter or postpone that date and only once has a court done so.

Pretty open and shut. I wonder why she deflected?

Ignorance.

CNN saying she is doing extremely well and if it were any other time or president, she would get at least 70 votes for.

Apparently. Any b-list reality tv show host can occupy the White House.

No other President would've nominated her. She's only here because they see her as a slam dunk on overturning Roe and allowing almost unlimited gun rights.

This, this, this. Nothing in her legal credentials suggests she merits a lifetime appointment to the highest court in our country.

Her earring are ridiculously unprofessional. Surprising that no one has commented on those swinging pendulums yet.

I don’t understand much about the nomination or the hearing. How likely is the majority to vote yes?

I think this is an underestimation. Trump is an evil genius. So is Amy Coney Barrett. They both know exactly what they have to do to play the game.

Please don't spew this sexist BS. Let's focus on the merits: she is awful for Americans and a total hypocrite. That is plenty.

No-Notes ACB.

Powerful optic.

Why is a women's appearance always always commented on? Obviously among people of all parties!

Yep, that it doesn't really matter what she says. She's already been vetted by those who matter, a point that Sen. Whitehouse is making right now.

Senator Boof didn't ask one question, rather lectured about dark money on the right. He ignored all the Soros money on the left.
