2 weeks

More specifically - October 12th to November 6th. 9 days. 35 out of 100 Senate seats are up for reelection.

So why are they talking about voting on 19th?

Because the turtle's scrambling to bail water out of his sinking ship. He'd better dump S.S. Trump and focus on his own re-election and that of his vulnerable party members.

Start with passing Covid relief.

Even Trump recognizes that his Covid-19 diagnosis sank the stock market and he needs to get those numbers up before the airlines + Disney go under.

He's not tweeting about SCOTUS for a reason. ACB or her brood is positive.

Can they skip recess without Democrats approval?

And not go home to their own vulnerable election campaigns? The R Senators are vulnerable, now more so than ever that Dear Leader is Covid-19 positive and those QAnon nuts can no longer call it a hoax.

It occurs to me that if you are religious, a superspreader event tied to a party over a SCOTUS nomination is not reassuring.

How would it look if God were in favor of what is going on? Probably not like this carnival of contagion.

If this happened during the Obama admin you can bet your ass they’d be saying it’s God’s wraith punishing the sinful.

None of them are actually religious. It’s all a big show for power.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Saturday that he'll seek to obtain a consent agreement to delay the return of Senate from Monday to Oct. 19 in the wake of three GOP senators testing positive for the coronavirus.

Both Johnson and Tillis have said they aren't experiencing any symptoms from the illness. Lee has said he was suffering from allergy-like symptoms and sought the test soon after. The senators, both members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, have said they plan to leave their quarantines in 10 days — in time for the Oct. 12 hearing to confirm Barrett.

"I'm planning to move to the nomination as soon as it comes out of committee," McConnell told reporters in Kentucky.

The effort could reach the Senate floor as early as Thursday, Oct. 22, following the Judiciary hearings.

How they can vote on 22nd if they’re supposed to be at recess?

It will go through before January 3, people seem to forget November is the election not the end of the term

Don’t they to quarantine for 14 days? Are they allowed to do 10?

Except the McSally Senate race is a special election. If Mark Kelly (D) wins he will immediately take office in the Senate in November and that single vote is enough that the Republicans will no longer have the numbers needed to push through confirmation.

I don't believe they can do it.

Republicans are down for the count with all their people and ONLY their people being hit hard. More will be announced soon but they've got the RNC Chair, two Judiciary Senators, the President and First Lady, and Campaign Advisors all quarantined at home.

They're trying to run a presidential reelection campaign (down nationally), a SCOTUS nomination, several Senate + House reelection campaigns, and prevent both a economic + national security meltdown.

That's a lot.
