A longer established and higher quality feeder club in Pipeline is why.

Well WSVA is screwed if they are banking on the GF feeder being their saving grace.

WS VA did this to themselves too. They dropped anchor right in the middle of the shark tank with no bait. In my opinion this was totally predictable.

They tried to build the appropriate pipeline, but then BRYC and Loudoun and Arlington all walked away from the pipeline arrangement over control issues. And all subsequently pursued something different and independent, whether ECNL or DA.

Spirit not only wanted these clubs to send their best players but we’re going to have to pay a fee to Spirit for the privilege of sending their best players to them. These club to club partnerships do not work. Director egos are too big.

The only one dumb enough to give up all of their field space was GFR, Spirit knows they are never getting decent players from a club run by a rec director but they got what they needed which was field space.

and if I remember correctly, the fee was an outrageous amount.

Totally random post.

Beating the drum while walking in circles. There is no plan.

Are you in band? What instrument do you play?

I keep hearing what a "crap" club GFR is, so I googled them.

* Their 01G team beat FCV's 01 team 7-0. They beat FCV's 00 team 5-0. they beat PWSI's 00/01 team 7-0. They didn't lose a single game this past fall.
* Their 04G team also beat FCV04 Elite 7-0 and PWSI 3-1.
* Their 06G team beat PWSI 6-1 and either beat or tied everyone else.

They have some very weak teams, but obviously they weren't just some joke club. That shows that this forum talks out of its butt and that even lowly little GFR may have a player or two in some age groups capable of competing at the next level.

You do realize those PWSI and FCV teams are B and C level teams for those clubs?

Is that your new job? Throwing one liners with no substance out there on any Spirit thread?

Yes, they smashed B teams. I didn't say the whole team should be moved over to DA, but smashing a B team does mean they aren't a crap club of no value. B teams feed into A teams. Results like that suggest there could always be a player or 2 that can play at the next level.

What is ODSC? B team? Isn't that where FCV DA's top 2 scorers came from?

How much money is being a Spirit troll paying these days? We enjoy the environment and training at WS very much, but why not make some extra cash to defray costs? It seems it must be lucrative with all the crap posts on this forum.

Okay. That makes sense. PP is likely correct. GFR probably has a few kids in each age that could help WSVA. I don’t think they turn the tide of the program though.

Sense of entitlement and silly comments from Spirit parents on this forum and in real life. That’s why.

The same 04 team that got drilled at Jefferson Cup not scoring a single goal that's who you are bragging about. In addition what great 04 player is staying on that garbage team when there are not enough solid players to fill all the ecnl/da spots there are out there. You are also bragging about an 01 team who is basically aged out what do they have to do with being a team looked at as a feeder for spirit. You also have got to be kidding me on the 06 team. They lost to SYC and they just lost to VSA B team. Defend a club that should be defended not some rec club acting like a travel club. They are not a quality feeder club period and spirit will always struggle depending on that club to develop players.

I haven't read any of those. Just negative and sarcastic comments.

Really, how much are you being paid? I'd love a piece of the action, it must be a lot at your work rate and volume.

Maybe, maybe not. It depends on the needs of the team. The 04 Spirit team needs a forward. If GFR 04 has one, that can change a lot. But I'm not saying GFR is the next hot thing in soccer. I was only showing that this forum is biased.

Yes, I meant the 06 ODSC girls are the scorers for FCV. They didn't come fron within FCV's program either. If Spirit can change some bad decision making started really by Torres and then turn around its image, they might pick up that 1-2 player from GFR, from ODSC, from an overlooked possibly quality player at other big clubs in the area, and so on.
