wasn't there some sort of cheating scandal on the girls side with State Cup? Maybe two or three years ago?

First I'm hearing about it, how does a team cheat exactly?

Putting older players on the field and not submitting their player cards. Just happened in our age group at a tournament a few weeks ago. 3 players on a team who were a full two years older. Screwed the outcome of whole age bracket.

You should be reporting it to Rich Shelton.

I thought he was gone?

Why would you think that? Just saw him walking fields 2 nights ago surveying his coaches.

Was this GFR or another team? Would be curious to the club and age group since there are a lot of end of season tournaments coming up.

Did you report it to the tournament organizers or did you just come here to publicly trash the club/team?

How does that even happen? It sounds like bad management from the tournament.

It was another team we played. A GFR coach thought they kids looked way to big to be in our age group and insisted on seeing their player cards after the game. The team was eliminated from the tournament but Unfortunately, the tournament was over by then so it screwed the whole age group.

PWSI U14 team was caught cheating by NCSL and their coach and a player were suspended for multiple teams.

If not happy at GFR, what programs are better and not a long commute? I see every program getting trashed on this forum so it's hard to know.

I cannot agree more! The coach is AWFUL and encourges his player to play dirty. He doesn't check the parents for their poor behaviors and taunts other coaches from the sideline...SHAME ON THIS CLUB..SHAME ON THE COACH.

Ahhh, you’re back again making lots of allegations with no details of any kind to substantiate your claims. No dates when this alleged behavior took place. No mention of the team name or age group(s). Nothing at all. I wonder why that would be?

Sorry, you cannot handle the truth!!!

What "truth" would that be when there are no details for us to verify?

No coach should be coaching kids on their team. Anything different is unethical.

That club is not known for its ethics - including letting a lot of teams pay 1/4 of what others pay and use the GFR "umbrella" to get into NCSL/travel tournaments as "part of" GFR.

Also personally know of at least a few of (former?) coaches who solicited / picked up private lessons for players on their current team (S.A. who is now at Valor did this a lot).

Not entirely a fair comparison here. The outside teams using the 'umbrella' are paying less because the club isn't providing any coaching or training services, just fields and referees. Those teams make their own arrangements for coaching.
