I would be especially wary about the latter. If they were sure they wanted a kid on the top team again, they wouldn’t hesitate in sending an offer.

If you are on a top team and you don't start or play much, and everyone else on your team has been sent offers, its time to shop around if you aren't OK with being moved down to team 2

Did they tell you what offer is when you contacted or just gave timing? If have offer, given you had to ask for it, was it for lower team than wanted/on now? Just curious how playing out as thought general rule was if don’t hear in 24-48 hr can assume being bumped down or no offer (so best to live on to other club), but sounds like this year diff? Is it bc of age change?

There has been no communication about timelines and next steps for offers so it is becoming harder to convince people to stay when most girls tried out at multiple clubs and have multiple offers in hand with 48 hour acceptance windows. You can only keep interested clubs waiting for so long. If you are unsure of performance, PLEASE speak to existing coaches who have known our girls/families for multiple years or come to practices to see the girls in the scrimmages. But something needs to be done soon if you want to keep families.

A club that can’t get its act together with getting offers out should be the only red flag you need.

They told me the team (blue) and it was probably 4-5 days after tryouts. My kid doesn’t currently play for GFR.

Our current club has also been VERY slow with the offers. I think the age change is making things more difficult this year.

Oh stop. Tryouts just ended late last week. It is TUESDAY. An as mentioned, with the age change things are more complicated than they usually are. Reach out to a coach if you have a question about your individual kid.

No, they didn't even actually end. That's why this is kind of crazy to be freaking out because in the middle of spring break people aren't getting offers after 2 tryouts. Our coach warned us it would be a few days with the weekend and spring break on top of the age group change and several coach changes. They don't want to just start sending offers, they're making careful decisions. Opposite of the red flag to me.

It’s DCUM and tryout season. Every thread about a club has haters coming out in full force right now!

Most of the kids got offers on our team and there are many handfuls that have not. That is why people are frustrated.

Normal, organized clubs start getting offers out 24-48 hours after the first tryout to the returning players they know they want to keep in the club. It’s not hard.

The new leadership for the younger girls will try to build more competitive teams by bringing in outside players. It’s just what he does as do many other coaches. There will be casualties for the kids that aren’t perceived to be able to play up to the new desired level.

Hmmm. Sounds like it’s a good idea to look around if not holding an offer.

There are tryouts for many other local clubs in the weeks after spring break. Time to contact them and ask to join a session or two.

And anyone who thinks this is a bad thing should definitely look at other clubs.
