The only part that really captivated me this week was the scene where Serena and the commander going at it. |
There were some maps of the US up on the wall in the office. I think they show Gilead, US, and blacked out areas. |
But Nick is very fair skinned and June is white. The baby would be 3/4 white anyways so I doubt the baby would be noticeably darker. |
Really? I held my breath through the whole thing, very stressful. I also thought the leit-motif of June realizing her own strength, and feeling her connection to her mother deeply in that moment, was really beautiful. |
predictions for what comes next? |
I loved the Oprah cameo! |
Can they possibly hire a consultant who knows something about childbirth? With Janine, they cut that cord without clamping it. Now, she’s in labor surrounded by blood soaked sheets—that’s not normal and would mean an abruption or serious complication. It’s a show about a childbirth centered culture so you think they’d invest in someone to get the childbirth part remotely correct. |
I agree. When I saw all the blood, I assumed that the baby didn't survive. |
Could’ve fooled me. He doesn’t look part AA or even Hispanic so is he part Asian? If so, I doubt that people would think the baby was his. h |
PP here. I just googled the actor and was surprised to learn that his father directed The English Patient which is one of my favorite movies. His mother’s side of the family is a few parts Asian. I love his lips! |
Totally agree....I've noticed things in the show that are considered no-no's during pregnancy and wondered how no one on set questioned these things. |
I’ll be so disappointed when that baby is give to Serena. |
According to next week’s trailer June goes back to the house, Nick is there as well. |
Watching now and just had to post how thrilled I was to hear Oprah! Such a great scene and the use of iconic Oprah was so impactful. |
Wait! Was that Oprah on the radio?? Totally missed that. |
