This is true, or just under the radar kid, which happens as well, sometimes due to politics, sometimes because the parent is clueless

There have been as many as 6 players that moved from orange to blue in a previous year. Thats the largest number but 3 is a normal number.

Except for the 2027 teams when it has been painfully obvious that Orange/Blue changes could have helped the Blue team. There has been inconsistency.

This is potentially bad advice. The best players that are propping up the other area teams will no longer be on those teams. The rest of the DC area teams will be noticeably worse next year after their best players go to Capital.

But maybe you’re talking about Baltimore teams. If DC area parents think DC lacrosse politics are bad, Baltimore lacrosse politics are much worse. Good luck trying to get a spot on a Baltimore B team roster. If you don’t have some existing connection, you’re not getting an offer.

The previous posters who think there are better options than Capital Orange are not being logical. And if you go that route, plan on being at Capital tryouts next year after you didn’t take a spot on Orange this year. You’ll happily take the Orange spot next year.

Maybe the Capital Coaching isn’t up to the same level as Baltimore area clubs, but it’s closer than some of the so called coaching at DC area clubs. And there’s no other club in this area with the level of programming that Capital has.

There are too many parents on here that will get offended if there DD makes Orange and will sabotage college chances by not taking that spot.

There’s a long line of girls that will be grateful for that spot and make the most of the opportunity.

This is a fair assessment. There’s a mix of families on these teams with different college aspirations and that gets missed in these posts. Some want high academic and others are just happy to get into college. Some families are aid seeking. Not everyone is looking for the same college path.

140+ is typical at cap tryouts. Maybe not as high this year? Maybe just north of 100?

You don't really need to watch the tryouts to second guess selections, that's never stopped people in the past.

Get used to it 2030 parents. This is the capital way. You wont be allowed to watch practices either. You will be handed a 40 page rulebook when you sign up that you and your kid will have to sign and abide by. Enjoy the ride, "Family" lol!!!!
