The link shows that sometimes people in the hospital die, and sometimes those deaths are the result of physician error. That is not the same as "doctors killing people." It doesn't take into account intent or the alternative, for example. |
There are about 1,100 deaths by police a year nationwide, and this is in a nation of almost 400,000,000 people. In most of these cases, the deceased was threatening to harm others. Doctors don’t deal with the threat of their patients killing others. The situations are quite different. And statistics being what they are — medicine is more deadly than law enforcement. |
There are obviously some police on here, or at least spouses of police or police collaborators/sympathizers, judging by some of the butthurt comments.
Something that those people and police need to realize and understand is to not take it personally. It's not so much the person that people object to, but the police presence in general and the extreme corruption involved with police and politicians who control the police. There's an old saying, "If it were not for the willingness of lackey policemen to commit violence on the public, then politicians would just be crazy people yelling at each other." |
If that were true, then end "immunity" for them and make them accountable same as everyone else. ![]() ![]() |
You can think that if you want. Called putting your head in the sand. You and the post before you should get out in the real world though and feel the pulse. |
No thanks. I think I’ll continue living in reality. |
Irony. Look it up. |
Did you not read one of the previous posts about not taking things personally? It's not you personally people dislike... though considering your behavior here, perhaps it really is you...? Reflect on your own actions in life and find the source of your anger and frustration. Then determine if you play a role in it on a personal level. |
Corrupt to their very core. |
DP I’m not sure where you’re reading anger and frustration in these posts. And I doubt anybody is taking things personally. For many of us, we simply choose to rise above making blanket statements about a group of people. Any group of people. It’s as simple as that. |
It’s not personal. You’re exhibiting the type of thoughts that get people involuntarily committed for their own safety. Seek help before someone in your family signs an EPO. |
A cop and a doctor now? How wonderful! ![]() You can be one of those compassionate social workers that loves the public wants to protect and serve. ![]() |
I don't dislike them as a whole, but some are sexist, blue-color, meatheads. And, as a lawyers, I have seen how some will lie in court for each other. |
I am an ER physician. It is incredibly safe to work in law enforcement compared to the ER.
I hate law enforcement because they are useless when they are in the hospital or are involved with a patient ending up here. They don't provide meaningful safety in the ER, they escalate things constantly and people end up being hurt and needing medical care making more work and chaos at my job that is completely full of stress and chaos on a regular basis. I find the lack of accountability for their choices to be the utter failing of that profession. They screw up, hurt people and the entirety of the profession draws rank and does think...why did that happen and did we contribute to the situation. Instead, they blame the dead person or the maimed person or the person who just got the crap beat out them. And we as a society back this. |
Funny. The medical profession talking about lack of accountability. |
