Interesting bc they do not come up on the USA swimming team locator page. |
Is it difficult to get registered with USA swimming? If so why. |
To be fair, I'm going to guess that the USA-S club application process is a process and may take months. Hydra has a short-window of time between May-July to put itself out there as an alternative for swimmers deciding to re-up with an existing or switching clubs when the majority of sign-ups/financial commitments happen. So all of that is to say, the timing of becoming a club and getting sign-ups is tough to sequence. Now to be unfair, i think that Tuckahoe is subsidizing Hydra to some degree so who the hell knows. |
Not a Hydra, York, or Tuckahoe family.
Hydra looks to be getting a fairly fast cohort of kids. Do we really think that they won’t be ready to roll by the fall season? And do we really think they won’t be invited to meets? Feels like wishful thinking from the masses. |
How do you know what cohort of kids Hydra is getting especially if not associated with them? Not all York kids will follow and not all Tuckahoe families will switch clubs. I’m sure they will be ready to roll by fall but meets they will swim are iffy. Most established clubs have their set relationships and meets. I can’t imagine they will be invited to Machine invitational/sponsored meets. Who knows what York will do.. |
Coach here
as a parent I would ask to the see the competition schedule of said promised meets. PVS meets any club can go to. So that gives you 3 open meets, Champ meets and 1 LC meet. Machine, YORK NCAP and AAC hosted meets will certainly be out. If judging by how no coaches at Championship meets would interact with him aside from the coaches going with him, and listening to the coach chatter he is not liked by the coach community at all. Hard to get invites to meets when you aren’t liked or trusted. Don’t know him but this is a very small network. They can always travel. |
I emailed Paris this morning and she confirmed to coaches will be moving to Chesterbrook. Two coaches are moving over? I wonder which two? |
Two coaches are moving over? I wonder which two? Ask your swimmer. Coaches have been communicating with them. They find out things a lot earlier than me. |
Two coaches are moving over? I wonder which two? She confirmed the Machine coaches at Tuckahoe will be at the Chesterbrook location now. |
I’m not with any of the directly affected clubs, but why would NCAP or AAC blackball this new club? I understand why you would say York and Machine might not be inclined to invite them to meets, but what is the link with NCAP and AAC? |
Machine and NCAP are very close teams and staffs. Many meets are run together. The AAC head coach, staff and board has been over Ortmayer for years for his continued claims of having anything to do with Huske and her Olympic performances. Another reason stated by coaches of having no respect for Ortmayer. He was not Huske coach, Evan Stiles was. Evan Stiles developed her. Yet Ortmayer actively tries to say she was his swimmer. High school coaches do not produce Olympians. Ortmayer was not liked or respected in the coach community long before he decided to open a club. |
I don't think they'll be invited to NCI. There's no room for them in Sport Fair. What's their December champs meet? |
I don’t think it’ll just be those 3 teams blackballing the new one…York is close with other programs too. |
ISCA. |
Seriously? The Nov or Jan meet? |
