I’m actually good with letting those posts stay up. it’s educational. |
interesting take but do you see Democrats as blameless? |
No, of course not. Dems were a minority yes to war vote vs republicans. W Bush duped only some democrats into believing the administration would first exhaust diplomacy with the goal of getting Sadam Hussein to the bargaining table. That was a big lie. The biggest lie was if we had to go to war it would be with a broad coalition of allies. There were no true allies. Netanyahu proved he would never be our ally and made a mockery of Americans who elected the dumbest president in history. Here’s how the vote went: House passed the Authorization of the Use of Military Force (AUMF) on Iraq in October 2002. The vote was 296 to 133. 215 Republicans and 81 Democrats voted for it. 126 Democrats, 6 Republicans, and 1 Independent (Sanders) voted against it. Among the Senate yes votes were, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, and John Kerry. Sanders raised hell on Biden. And I gotta say, he knew W was a liar and a fool. Actually, like Trump, W was a hollow puppet who marched to the orders of others… Dick Cheney and Netanyahu. John Kerry defended Biden: “It was a mistake to have trusted them. But that was not voting for the war.” “It was a string of lies.” “It didn’t have to happen. It was a war of choice.” |
I think the Israelis will have a major problem attacking Turkey. They should concentrate on Egypt or Saudi next. Saudi would be the easiest and most profitable. |
So no chance for peace? Not ever |
There is zero reason to think Israel has designs on Turkey, Saudi Arabia, or Egypt. If any of them attacked, that'd be another story, as was the case in 1948 when Israel was attacked by Egypt, Jordan, Libya, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon, defeating them all. The same thing happened in subsequent conflicts, resulting at times in Israeli forces taking control of Gaza, the Golan Heights, the West Bank, and the Sinai Penninsula. None of those actions were unprovoked. After the Camp David Accords in 1978, Israel returned the Sinai Penninsula to Egypt, which recognized israel's right to exist, and the two countries established normal diplomatic relations. Neither Egypt nor Israel has been aggressive towards the other ever since. Barring any aggression from neighboring countries, the status quo is likely to prevail. |
How do you factor in Obama’s actions in Syria and Lybia? |
Do you realize how laughable you come across with this “Israel had no choice but to persist in violating international law for at least the past 57 years!” schtick? |
Why is this thread about Israel? Why not be celebrating Syrians' liberation?
You people are so disgusting with your Israel obsession. I hope it keeps you up at night. |
Because within 48 hours it was pretty clear that Syria wasn't "liberated." Its just being carved up by colonial powers and Islamic warlords with all that comes with it. |
DP What Obama did in Libya was a disaster and he knows it. In Syria his mistake was saying a red line but not getting involved is not bad decision. Republicans and Democrats are the never ending war parties. I assume it is a good business model for weapon manufacturers and the American public are so gullible for manipulation. |
Maybe because Israel has yet to return land in the Golan Heights region of Syria that it has unlawfully occupied in violation of international law for over five decades … ? Or maybe because Israel has a track record of promoting instability in its neighboring countries, including Syria? Or maybe because Israel was reported by CNN to have struck Syria nearly 500 times with missile attacks in the first two days since the Assad government fell? Or maybe because … once a liar, always a liar? |
DP Netanyahu wanted to start with Iran not Iraq. |
lol well this entire thread is about Israel despite the fact that pretty much only Israel took actions consistent of limited defense of its own borders, and took other steps for the common good (destroying chemical weapons). Crickets about Turkey, US, Russia and Iran. |
meanwhile Turkey is … |
