Not really. It's in our interest to see the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia diminished in the region.

And if the baddies like the hardcore Islamic fanatics come to power, they won't have the weapons - from chemical weapons to artillery - to be a nuisance to anyone else - thanks to Israel and Turkey.

Its really not good for us at all if history is any indication. We "diminished" Russia in Afghanistan and got 9/11, forever wars and Patriot Act as a reward. We got rid of Sadam and Qaddafi and set the whole region on fire, many dead Americans, and swamped our European allies with destabilizing migration. Not really sure what we got in exchange for all that. [/quote]

We got 9 11 because W refused to take heed of the former administration’s National Security warnings that ISIS was the greatest threat to the U.S. The Brits, Saudis, and many more met with W and confirmed he was making a dire mistake to declare war with Iraq. It only made Iran stronger.

But there’s more— Netanyahu knew how stupid W was and knew W wanted to avenge the assassination attempts on his daddy. Netanyhu convinced W that Iraq was the target. Dick Cheney was already a war monger.

W got to stand on a hill of 9 11 ashes, declare war on the wrong country, and soak up the halo effect. [i]Look at me daddy![/i]

And there’s more— Netanyhu said it was easy to manipulate U.S. presidents. He did nothing as an ally but thoughts and prayers. The collateral damage is devastating. Netanyahu and Hamas are the current war criminals. W prevented Ukraine’s NATO membership. Don’t be fooled. He voted yes and flipped to no. Russia Ukraine war is on him. His silence is deafening. No, of course not. Dems were a minority yes to war vote vs republicans. W Bush duped only some democrats into believing the administration would first exhaust diplomacy with the goal of getting Sadam Hussein to the bargaining table. That was a big lie.

The biggest lie was if we had to go to war it would be with a broad coalition of allies. There were no true allies. Netanyahu proved he would never be our ally and made a mockery of Americans who elected the dumbest president in history.

Here’s how the vote went: House passed the Authorization of the Use of Military Force (AUMF) on Iraq in October 2002.

The vote was 296 to 133. 215 Republicans and 81 Democrats voted for it. 126 Democrats, 6 Republicans, and 1 Independent (Sanders) voted against it.

Among the Senate yes votes were, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, and John Kerry.

Sanders raised hell on Biden. And I gotta say, he knew W was a liar and a fool.

John Kerry defended Biden:
“It was a mistake to have trusted them. But that was not voting for the war.”
“It was a string of lies.”
“It didn’t have to happen. It was a war of choice.”
