| Only 30% of White males have attended college in USA. Are we surprised that they voted MAGA? |
What is hypocritical about being a Democrat and using private school? Taxes go to the public school regardless. Many people don’t want their kids to be in schools like the ones in Oklahoma, that ranks 50th in education, but has Trump Bibles in every classroom and the Ten Commandments on every wall. That’s not an education. |

^Only a member of the teachers union believes the US has one of the best public school systems in the world. THE list of other countries besting us grows larger every day. Ireland, most Scandinavian countries, Japan, China, South Korea, Germany, India are just a few. If the public school system is so great, why are the majority of the posters here enrolling their kids in privates? Are they all prestige seekers?

Exactly. This also supposes this weird idea by republicans that democrats control all the policy in the US, while simultaneously not having complete political institutional control for 56 years. Seriously, Republicans have a lot more ownership on our modern policies and daily life, because we resoundingly vote more republican more often in this country. |
You suppose that most people here are average Americans? Think critically. |
| ^Extremely weak logic. Probably not 1 poster on this site. Most are from wealthy full-pay suburbs in deep deep blue Northeast corridor. Try to do better. |
| Doubt many Oklahoma Sooners on dcurban. |
Then why does it matter where these people send their kids? They are out of touch with the American perspective. |
This!!! |
1. They are not 2. Religious indoctrination in this country is aburdly stupid and yet they keep enrolling their kids |
| Too busy being Alpha. |
| Too busy trying to get Chad and Chloe into Brown or Swarthmore. |
Not in the DMV. Both DCPS and MCPS had to add public HSs in wealthy areas to accommodate demand. |
| Because men don’t need a college degree to make more than women. |
Just to correct the record, the US ranks 28th in Math, 6th in reading and 10th in science. Overall we are at 18 (though China cheats and only provides scores from private schools in Beijing and Shanghai). We are actually ahead of Sweden, Belgium, France, Germany, Norway. Just behind Denmark…but yes behind Ireland, UK, South Korea and Japan. India doesn’t seem to participate. |
