Other than right to life/abortion issue is anyone else approaching the next presidential election as a single issue voter ?

If other than right to life/abortion, what is that issue ?

Too bad you got played by whatever media you are consuming.

I am fiscally conservative and I like these numbers. So if I were single issue, Gee then Dem it is, to quote PP.

OMG!!!!!

The article says Immigrants. It does not say Illegal Immigrants (Migrants). So perhaps Legal immigrants who come here and work contribute much more to the treasury than is taken out. Sure. I’m a legal immigrant and have been working here for past 24 years. But my family was screened, and we entered the USA the right way.

I’ll rust the NY Mayor, Adams, who says they have a crisis and the Illegal Immigrants who are paying ZERO in taxes will cost the city 2 Billion dollars this year to house, feed, and take care of them. That is just the 40k migrants they have in NY! How about the other 1-2 million that have come here since last year?

Uh, illegal immigrants pay sales and other taxes but are otherwise not in the system, so whatever they pay in, they get zero out.

Whatever they pay in, they get zero out?

That’s not the case. Many localities/counties fully foot the bill for everything; living expenses, schools and other support.
There is also no law against receiving other, federal, benefits as far as I know.

This is one of *the* most difficult countries on the planet as far as *legal* immigration is concerned.
However, illegal immigrants are thriving and fully integrated from a support standpoint.
They have been thriving for decades - something very unique to the US.
A totally lopsided set up.

Bull$hit. Biden doesn't know the meaning of border security.
There is a huge difference between border SECURITY and border MANAGEMENT. All Biden wants to do is manage the border and the influx of migrants. And, he does that poorly too.

Meanwhile, the GOP is looking at REAL border security.

Nope, they are voting to cut spending on border security.

Be specific. Because you are FOS.

Joe No Borders Biden deserves praise

An 18-month investigation by Prism, Futuro Investigates, and Latino USA found that the H-2A visa program—derived from the infamous Bracero Program—is rife with wage theft and exploitation

Years later, Diego still struggles to find the words to describe the labor camp he was expected to call home during the spring of 2018.

“This is where we’re going to live?” Diego recalled thinking. “Everything was filthy.”

His first impulse was to snap photos with his cell phone. He photographed the “bathroom” that only had two functional toilets for dozens of men—and no doors. A “shower” that was nothing but a bucket in an enclosed space and a spigot that shot out cold water. There weren’t enough beds for all the men. Those who had mattresses may have actually been the unlucky ones because they were yellowing, stained, and full of ticks. There were also snakes in the house, including one in the kitchen where the only working appliance in the whole ramshackle place was a single refrigerator that looked like it’d never been cleaned.

There was no food and nowhere for Diego and his best friend Mario to rest their heads after a grueling bus ride from Mexico that took days longer than it should have and depleted the little money they had.

Section 101 is an across the board 22 percent cut of all discretionary spending, which includes all border security approps.

And, the Biden administration has not been spending on "border security." They have been spending any money appropriated to border control to MANAGE the influx of migrants - processing them, housing them, flying them around the country. Once they have passed them off, it is up to the states to foot the bill. Hospital costs, food costs, housing costs.....

This administration has done NOTHING to secure the border.

The truth is that Biden has more border apprehensions than Trump did. You can’t change facts. Too bad.

Processing people and identifying them IS border security.

What should we do? Not get names and ID? How would that be better?

Good God you are clueless.

This is something you hold up as an accomplishment? LOL.

He has more border apprehensions because our border has been FLOODED under Biden. It wasn't that way under Trump because Trump's rhetoric and policies didn't invite them in.
We have a RECORD number of apprehensions under Biden. More than any other president in history. This is not something to be proud of.
And, with that record number of apprehensions comes a record number of got aways. And, a record amount of fentanyl. And, a record number of migrants dying en route. And, a record number of unaccompanied children who apparently are being trafficked by our own government.

Ask any border agent.... Biden has been a disaster when it comes to border security. Because, he has made the border less secure than ever in our history.

THAT IS ALL HE IS DOING. He is doing nothing to actually secure the border... you know, preventing people from entering in the first place.
And, considering that Biden has had more got aways enter during his short 2 1/2 years in office, they are NOT getting names and IDs.

As the Biden administration braces for what is expected to be a record surge in migration across the southern border when Covid restrictions officially end May 11, federal immigration authorities and local officials are already short on the money and space needed to handle migrants.

On Sunday, about 18,000 migrants were in temporary Customs and Border Protection processing centers along the southern border, according to two officials of the Department of Homeland Security, already close to capacity under current budget levels.

A DHS spokesman said the agency will be able to ramp up capacity to meet the needs of the expected increase in migration, citing a plan from Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas that will seek to remove migrants who do not qualify for asylum from the country more quickly.

But a DHS official speaking on the condition of anonymity said there is “anxiety” within the agency that under current funding and detention capacity levels, the agency will not be able to remove migrants quickly enough to prevent major bottlenecks along the southern border.

Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Troy Miller testified before Congress last week that he expects roughly 10,000 migrants to cross the border daily when the ban ends, doubling the current flow. Two DHS officials told NBC News the current immigration system at the U.S. border would be maxed out if numbers exceed 10,000, leaving Border Patrol and shelters without the capacity to take all undocumented migrants into temporary custody and process them.

Why not? Wouldn’t that solve any drug trafficking concerns? Oh that’s right you just don’t want any immigrants and you use drugs or whatever issue as an excuse.
