That's probably why they're so scared of vegetables. Immigrants touched them. No one should tell them about chicken wings. |
| At the end of the day, if you haven't experienced the joy of blasting your tunes and accelerating onto the interstate with instant torque and no engine noise... Well, I just feel sorry for you slow suckers. Electric cars are more fun to drive. |
I don't need to cover up the sound of my internal combustion engine with music. It is music. |
See, there's yet more stupidity. Loud does not equal power or speed. Even a shitbox 1972 Datsun converted to electric can blow the doors off of whatever you're driving. |
| You can't assert your dominance over the libs by rolling coal in an electric car. Better to get 15 miles to the gallon and then complain when the Arabs jack up gas prices. |
| I think of prius as a liberal car and tesla as an "everyone else" car. The other EVs on the market don't have the name recognition that tesla has. The entire premise of this thread is weird. |

Manchin blasts Biden guidance on EV charger tax credit: ‘Spits in the face of rural America’ Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) is criticizing the Biden administration’s broad interpretation of who can qualify for tax credits for electric vehicle chargers, saying its recent policy “spits in the face of rural America.” The Inflation Reduction Act, compromise legislation between Manchin and his fellow Democrats, includes a range of tax credits aimed at promoting climate technologies. One such credit allows businesses and individuals to claim up to 30 percent of the cost of installing electric vehicle chargers in areas that are either low-income or nonurban. The Biden administration released guidance last week that offers a broad definition of nonurban — including any census tract where at least 10 percent of blocks have not been designated as urban areas. Ultimately, the tax credit will be available to about two-thirds of Americans, according to the White House. Manchin, in a statement Tuesday night, accused the administration of going against the law — and harming rural Americans. “The Administration just will not stop ignoring the law in pursuit of its radical climate agenda — no matter the cost,” he said in a written statement. “This proposed guidance ensures that rural Americans will remain stuck at the end of the investment line, the exact problem this tax credit was supposed to address, choosing to give hand-outs to those that don’t need it while ignoring its responsibility to provide a hand up to rural communities at risk of being left behind,” he added. |

This is so typical of liberal, goody two shoes, tree hugging solutions. Why are liberals always so damn myopic. They think they're solving a problem and come up with solutions that always make things worse:
https://www.sciencefriday.com/segments/electric-vehicle-tires-wear-out/ Lol, where do you think tires come from? Magic? They require tons of fossil fuels and energy to produce. Their waste is terrible for the environment. Lo and behold what do you think happens when you now have millions of vehicles (EVs) on the road that are thousands of pounds heavier than before? They consume many more tires at a far more rapid rate. You have some EV owners now complaining about the fact that they had no clue they'd have to spend $1500 every 7000-10,000 miles to replace their tires because the EVs are consuming them like candy. The increase in consumption of tires completely negates all of the carbon emissions not produced by not driving an ICE. Also, in some ways this is even worse. Where do you think alllllll of that rubber particulate matter goes that come from tires? It just magically disappears too? No, it all goes into the air we breathe. All of it on the roads gets washed away and goes into our waterways too where is pollutes the aquatic environment with micro and nano sized rubber contaminates. EV owners are big polluters with how many tires they consume. |

I just had an electric car rental for a week in the west.
Its standard range was 340 miles on full charge. In the single digits the range was 170 miles. Totally horrible. Just wretched. |
What flavor of electric car? |
MB. It improved a lot in the 20s temp wise. I don’t hate electric cars but no chance would it be my only car. I did take measures by dropping cabin heat to low, and putting the regeneration system on high although that meant I was slowing down going down the other side of passes. One thing that annoyed me a lot driving on snow was when the regeneration system would shift to brakes under heavier braking it would unbalance the car and cause it to slip/skid a bit on ice and snow. That’s a flaw IMO. |
| They suck. The government needs to prop them up or else they wouldn’t exist. |
I'm seeing a shitload of Rivians and Hyundai Ioniqs, VW ID.4's and Audi E-Trons and others on the roads around the DMV |
