Even if the SCOTUS ruling comes out, there may be enough challenges to abortion bans that will prevent states from enacting such laws. This is from Florida where a synagogue says that in addition to violating privacy rights, the abortion ban is also a violation of the 1A religion clause.

Florida has some things in its state constitution that makes this more difficult for them. Not going to be the case in the other 25 or so states which will want to accomplish this. |
If the court recognizes the tenets of Judaism that are being cited in the suit, then there is no state that will be able to enact an abortion ban that violates the first amendment of the US Constitution. It's only a question if the federal court system will agree that the clauses violate the freedom of religion clause of 1A. |
Seems kind of a stretch. The religion says that someone must abort their child? What if my religion says that I must kill the infidel? Not gonna fly. |
You know what’s really crazy? Only now are forced birthers pretending to care about violence after decades of murders, stabbing, abductions and hostage situations, firebombings, arson, vandalism, threats against peoples lives, sniper attacks, stalking the children of providers, harassing clinic workers at their home (with the blessing of the “Supreme” Court who now wants protection from the same!) harassing women seeking medical care (they didn’t even need to be seeking an abortion, they just needed to be female and entering a clinic). Take your faux concern over these fascist POS “clinics” - sorry, friends, real medical care doesn’t lie, they provide medical care - and shove it where forced birthers wanted to shove an ultrasound wand. |
Do you have some kind of comprehension disability? |
| So do these pro-life clinics actually provide any healthcare? I know the advertise “free pregnancy tests “. But one can buy a realizable pregnancy test at Dollar Tree, so that is not healthcare. I don’t think they qualify under the law. Besides I think it’s false flag damage. Anti voice people are the ones with a history of violence. Eric Rudolph, for instance. |
I know someone who went to one of these centers. They talked her out of abortion, gave her financial support, and hooked her up with a church that gave her ongoing financial support. I get it if you prefer people just abort, but choice goes both ways. People should be able to choose to use these centers. |
Yeah right. If there are these great and wonderful churches giving all this financial support then why are there 400,000 American kids as wards of the state? That number will easily double with the overturn of Roe v. Wade, by the way. Please stop with the stupid anecdotes about one mom and one kid who made out OK while ignoring the hundreds of thousands of others who didn't and the hundreds of thousands more to come. |
