Hayfield Football Coach Fired

I predict this will be a 30 for 30 one way. Wait a year or two until a former player decides to be interviewed for $5k.

100%

Overton and his crew didn’t do their research on the likes of Asra Q. Nomani (not all that surprising). Once she got involved the smart bettors knew this was going to be a death by 1000 cuts type situation. She’s likely sitting on a mountain of evidence and just slowly going to let it drip out.

Yep. I disagree with her politics but she is a great journalist. She's like a dog with a bone.

She’s diligent and uncovers stuff that others wouldn’t look for or find. She isn’t always accurate - for example, she suggested the Herndon FB coach recently resigned over FCPS’s handling of the Hayfield situation and he completely disavowed her claim.

Next the Hayfraud boosters will start claiming the Fairfax Times is racist.

There has already been someone, many pages back, mocking Asra Nomani's name. That's not exactly tolerant of other cultures and languages, now is it? It isn't classy either.

The Herndon coach was recruiting. I know that for a fact.

Does anyone know if there is any Federal or state grant money associated w/these homelessness claims?

All this slandering of other programs and coaches with NO PROOF is pathetic.

DP. I didn't see it but I believe you. She's pretty notorious, for better or worse, after the TJ debacle. Good with facts, maybe not so good with speculation. Makes for good reading but not-great journalism.

Without her special education journalism, I wouldn't have found out that FCPS accidentally shared extremely sensitive information regarding my mentally ill child. FCPS sure wasn't forthcoming about it.

And the Board would have known all this when they were circulating the let’s all sign a we love her letter.

Which board members signed vs did not sign?

All signed on but R. Anderson, Dunne, McElveen, Meren, and Moon.

Fritts ain’t coming back to fcps

Overton should be down in fcps

Thompson may survive but probably won’t be hayfield principal past June 2025

Reid hmm may survive especially if she can burn fritts Overton and Thompson and get them all out of fcps

I know folks want her fired I’m just not sure the board can definitely make it stick (yes I realize all the evidence we’ve seen), but her complicity is standing behind hayfield but she wasn’t a direct participant so I think that’s maybe what keeps her safe

Add to this list Michell Boyd (Assistant superintendent for Region 6) who helped facilitate the cover up transfers of staff and hiring of Thompson, Overton and his long list of flunkies.

That’s no smoking gun and I don’t think it’s damning. It shows the AD expected transfers to come in with Overton and he mentioned homeless kids as an example.

If kids had been caught faking homeless, they may have something here, but I don’t thing this shows any violation being committed.

Nonsense. Why do you think Fritts suggested kids would transfer in as homeless and responded with three "laughing enojis" when his friend said "they better actually be homeless" ?

Moreover why---if kids weren't expected to transfer to play football which is a VHsL
Violation---is the conversation which started discussing hiring Overton then about how 10+ kids will be transferring from ither schools and some pretending to be homeless?

Think some mentioned earlier that sports may not have been the only reason the kids transferred. They probably liked the fact that Hayfields academics were better, some other things could have attracted them, and football could’ve just been the tipping factor.

It isn't better academically than DeMatha.

It’s better price wise.

Kid had a scholarship to DeMatha!

He’s not that good

Not the point.

By the way, this is national news now. It’s being covered on sports talk radio, sports illustrated, USA Today, etc. Is this truly the kind of press we want for our top ranked county? All individuals involved need to go and need to go now. Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Principal, DSA, Coach, assistant coaches, parents and players. All knew what was going on and were complicit.

Well, Dr. Reid and the school board systematically destroyed the top high school in the country, TJ, then moved to completely dismantle educational excellence. They are almost finished with destroying neighborhood schools and all their higher ranking non TJ high schools through county-wide rezoning every 5 years based on One Fairfax.

It makes perfect sense that the superintendent and school board are now moving on to destroying FCPS athletics, starting with football.

If they keep moving on their plan, they might be able to achieve Chicago Public Schools status in a year or two.
