Hayfield Football Coach Fired

I’m trying to figure this out. Does it suggest a kickback if Overton comes to Hayfield?

This is going to be a great depo question someday. But, need to get it to court. Any Plaintiffs or criminal attorneys that can comment re cause of action ?

Ticket sales go up when you get more talent and bring in championships. When you get sponsors, you don’t need to spend money out of school budget. Now, kids can get NIL deals

Yes when you have a talented program, money is generated.

That’s no smoking gun and I don’t think it’s damning. It shows the AD expected transfers to come in with Overton and he mentioned homeless kids as an example.

If kids had been caught faking homeless, they may have something here, but I don’t thing this shows any violation being committed.

Do we know how many kids claimed this? The numbers are supposed to be public since they receive federal dollars for these kids.

Great journalism all along by the FT reporters and they had the scoop on this on the homeless issue this summer.

Nonsense. Why do you think Fritts suggested kids would transfer in as homeless and responded with three "laughing enojis" when his friend said "they better actually be homeless" ?

Moreover why---if kids weren't expected to transfer to play football which is a VHsL
Violation---is the conversation which started discussing hiring Overton then about how 10+ kids will be transferring from ither schools and some pretending to be homeless?

Reid’s narrative is clearly “mistakes were made” (but only by one lone, rogue AD) and that’s why her language now repeating “we have to make sure this doesn’t happen again.” But the AD allowed a leave of absence and no repercussion for Principal and Asst Sup and her is ridiculous. And the Board would have known all this when they were circulating the let’s all sign a we love her letter.

She is also buying into “sports is changing” so Hayfield convincing her that kids staying in boundaries is no longer “fair.” This is where school board will have to rein her in or fire bc if she backs Wild West for athletes for no boundaries, come training time, everyone is an athlete. Forestville kids will say going to run track or whatever other no cut sport they want to have their own choice v boundary SB draws. Seriously, did anyone else budget enough popcorn for this?

Can the homeless issue come up in the court hearing?

He could be sending the laughing emojis because he’s about to get a coach in that’s capable of winning in the playoffs. A coach that can attract talent, publicity, endorsements, sponsors, and put butts in the seats.

Think some mentioned earlier that sports may not have been the only reason the kids transferred. They probably liked the fact that Hayfields academics were better, some other things could have attracted them, and football could’ve just been the tipping factor.

Stop it. Even you know this isn't true if you are being honest with yourself.

It isn't better academically than DeMatha.

Texts are dated January 2023. Overton hadn’t even been hired yet. Makes it look like he was brought in because they knew he would cheat.

It’s better price wise.

Who is he talking to in the texts?

There are so many people sitting on mountains of evidence about this that are scared of retaliation from FCPS and what it’ll do to their career.
