Do you even read what you are posting? It's case by case again. Flexibility on least competitive teams. What if my player’s birth date and school grade don’t align? Our approach remains case-by-case. Play-up requests are reviewed by the head coach and club directors, considering: – Technical and tactical ability – Physical readiness – Social and emotional maturity Our philosophy remains the same: most players develop best in their true age group. On our most competitive teams, we form the strongest possible age-specific pools. On our least competitive teams, placement may occasionally reflect family or community factors. |

| So for the answer to why they didn't go strictly by school grade - that's an easy one. Because people often hold kids back to give them an advantage. We have plenty of kids that "reclass" in 8th grade so they can get an extra year of growth and training before high school (mainly baseball/football kids). They are trying to prevent this from happening. But aligning with school grade, with a maximum age cutoff makes 100% sense and I really hope clubs stick with that and don't force kids down just to make winning teams. (you know they will). |

Yes I do, unfortunatly you dont understand what they're saying. Mostly because you're stupid. When the club changes to SY they recommend playing on the correct grade in school team (not down a grade). What they’re addressing is Aug Sept that play up in BY but would technically play down in SY. in this situation they recommend playing on the team thats your grade in school. |

Don't worry what you've described will never happen. This is because if club teams go GY it puts them on the same level as High School soccer. If this occurs private high schools will offer free scholarships for the top players and become the top pathway for college recruits. This would blow up the p2p model and a lot of rich club owners would be out in the cold. |

It is amazing that you are trying and fumbling to find some random win at some random club out of the thousands in the US. Did you make like a million dollar bet at Vegas that youth soccer would go grade year instead of SY? And lost. For this club, it's case by case. As shown above, their competitive teams are pushing for on age but they have flexibility on less competitive teams. There are no players forced to play on grade at this club. Repeat, there are no players forced to play on grade at this club. Keep digging, many of the house rec leagues are leaning towards grades. "We know some players, especially those with August or early-September birthdays, may not align perfectly with their grade level because school districts may have different cut offs. Our directors will review each situation case by case to find the best developmental and social fit for each player. The goal is always to keep kids challenged and comfortable, whether that means staying with classmates or training within their natural age group." |
