Clubs care almost only about their top teams performance. If kids can make their age group's top team at your club, they will not be on any second team.

understood clear as day and if they dont make 1st team but still insist that grad year is the way to go, then I'm sure they can make argument to be on the 2nd team to match kids graduation year?

Because if little betty or little joey's parents are obsessed with playing in year the kid graduates then if they may have a fight to win position on 2nd team of the graduating school year. Most kids that are in this situation, if they are good enough, the club will let them stay on the graduating year team. Meaning if they can truly compete and outplay the players up down and all around they will make an exception. So if little betty or little joey's talent can not do so, maybe can compete to get on 2nd team of graduating year so parents will be happy

There are concerned parents, and maybe a few angry, BUT I'd say 90% of the pages here are 2 trolls arguing about Aug bdays.
