Not a fan of the dress or the red bow belt that doesn't go with the dress or flatter her.
Looks more like something one would wear on a nice spring day.

She’s worn this dress before.

Oh wow, that dress is hideous.

I have a neighbor who reminds me so much of Jill Biden, style-wise. She has the outdated feathered hair and wears things like cold-shoulder tops and dresses that are just… not current looking at all. I’d love to help her edit her closet.

My kids were watching a segment she taped for PBS (Christmas at White House?) and after watching it they both said she reminded them of their teachers/principal (elementary) in a good way. I could totally see it both in her speech/mannerisms and her dress. I guess it makes sense with her background.

Yeah, I don’t think anyone would call Jill stylish. But she is 70 something, appropriate for occasions, and not embarrassing. Win

She tries to dress young and sexy. It doesn't work. Classic would be better. And, it's time to ditch the Farrah Fawcett hair. And, please, no more fish net hose.

Where is she trying to be sexy?
I think her hair suits her, but what would you do to change it up? What's a classic style that is suitable for her age? I think I'd like her to go a bit more ashy but I'm not good at visualizing new looks for people.

We should all look this good when we’re in our 70s.

I just looked up fishnets, and this could be the answer to DCUM's debate. When bare legs look ridiculous but you want that bare leg look:

Why do performers wear nude fishnet stockings?

“The crisscross of the fishnets helps blend into the skin because there's no sheen,” explains An. “It looks natural. From where you're sitting in the audience, you're never going to know that a performer is wearing fishnets. It just blends in with the skin tone.”

It’s not tremendously flattering but she’s still lovely in it. And it’s not a spring dress at all.

Jill needs to fire her stylist. She could and should be stunning and she’s just not.

I’d love to see her in well-tailored jackets or more classic, structured dresses. She looks great in heels and jewel tones. She’s naturally very pretty. She’d look amazing with a low light with dirty blonde to amber warm with just a few face framing highlights. Straighter hair and less fussy and styled.

Better bras and pretty dressmaker details around her face so a
jewel neck top with an interesting g collar or even small ruffle - something g to scale with her (I assume) smaller, petite frame.

The printed dress shown above wears HER because the print and bright red belt are too big for her. Solids or tiny prints would be a huge improvement. She looks like she has borrowed someone else’s clothes.

16:40 and the bow - tied incorrectly. Looks sloppy.

She’d look so good in a Chanel suit.

I liked her red coat from in front of Floriana yesterday! Don't have the pics, though. I think Joe is himself taking a photo of the tree in one while she's shaking hands with someone.

Heck, I bet most of the people posting here don't look as good as Jill and they're all much younger. I think she looks great. I hate the quibbling about her dress and the bow because I think it diminishes women when we criticize each other for things that are clearly personal choice. Please let's try to be kinder to one another.
