U6 in August was 14.3%, down from 16.8% in July and 22.8% at its peak in April 2020.

Grinding better every month yet the left continues the narrative.

Wait, for 6 years, from 2010 to 2016, all we heard from the right was how horrible Obama was with the economy, when he was riding 200,000+ new jobs each month, falling unemployment in the single digits, and increasing GDP.

Are you serious?

A current friend is heading down to Miami for 6 weeks to have her plastic surgery done with her unemployment money.

That's disgusting. You have some shallow friends. I have worked this whole time, but my partner used his money to save against future rent, just in case things go south. We've also donated to others in need.

I cannot imagine getting plastic surgery or going on a lavish vacation while so many are suffering. Then again, our circle is mostly service industry/artist folks and none of us have spare money- the extra 600 kept many of us housed and fed.

Yes he is because there are no facts, only narratives. But PP's narrative is that her narrative doesn't exist. The advantage of this narrative is that you get to always be right.

It's meaningless. Whatever system you have, there will b people who will take advatantage. The only question is whether there is enough benefit to accept however many freeloaders. If you say yes to this often, you are probably a liberal. If you mostly say no, you are more likely a conservative. There is no magic formula to decide if it's worth or not.

I mean, there are all sorts of people who have one person LLCs who took millions in PPP money. It sucks that people are taking advantage of PPP and unemployment, but maybe there should have been more concern to safeguard public monies in the legislation and execution.

There was a deliberate decision not to do this to ensure money got out as quickly as possible. This wasn't a mistake, it was a tradeoff, and you either think it was worth it or you don't.

870,000 new unemployment claims, over 26M unemployed right now.

I wonder how many of those will be voting for Trump?

Continuing claims dropped 3.7 million (was 29 million) and California has suspended reporting due to fraud. Keep thinking its getting worse when in fact democrats are doing everything they can to make it worse...

Yep. A liberal Jewish builder I know took $40,000 in PPP and told me to do the same. I guilted him into giving $1,000 to a local charity giving rent relief.

Try hiring now. The only people you can get are those not eligible for the handouts. Fine with me. I am getting hungrier employees who do a better job.

We have now had 27 straight weeks of unemployment claims that are higher than even the worst week of the Great Recession and certainly more than ANYTHING during the Obama Administration.

The Democrats are complete idiots. All this news about the economy and yet voters trust Trump more than Biden on this issue.
