My uncle is in that dropped list of continuing claims. He has maxed out his number of allotted weeks. He worked in the hotel industry and it’s not coming back anytime soon. He applies for jobs along with thousands of others. His older than 50, so he is SOL. Dropped claims is not an automatic indicator that people are back to work, or back to the level they were pre coronavirus failure.

And it’s these people for whom I just feel sick. This economy is such an uneven mess, but we still have to put up with evil/stupid trumpsters who like to crow about the Dow like it means anything.

Most polls show that the majority thinks Trump is better than Biden on the economy, but on virtually no other issues. And Trump vs. Biden on the economy is one of the few places where the race is actually tightening.
