That's a great point about Lawrence and a power vacuum.
I love that Serena set up Fred. It didn't make sense or seem convincing that she was back with him and wanted Nichole returned to Gilead. Glad to see it was all just a ploy for revenge and way to get herself out. |
Called it and I was literally fist-pumping during that scene. Woo hoo! I'm going to have to watch the scene again to see if Fred realized at the last minute that Serena set him up. I wonder if the Canadians have been falsely signaling cooperation. I mean, rendition of one of Gilead's commanders is not exactly keeping things civil. |
Yes, FINALLY. |
I don't think Fred realized Serena set him up, he continued to be protective toward her. In his weak, pathetic way he did love her. The Canadians can easily spin this, given that the Waterfords came to them of their own free will (a betrayal of Gilead). |
I love that the Marthas are running the underground. Absolutely love it. I am stoked to see Serena in Canada/America. I am hoping they turn her into a spy against Gilead - not all Jason Bourne style, but in some substantive way. And what happens to Cmdr. Stabler's wife? I want to see that. |
True, but arresting him for war crimes, etc. is not signaling a willingness to cooperate/make agreements with Gilead. I mean, a few weeks ago, we're all WTF are they plotting against Emily with all those questions, but now we're arresting Fred for crimes against humanity, rape, and slavery? |
I thought all along they were just maintaining a veneer of diplomacy while plotting against Gilead at the same time. They have to be strategic. |

Looks like Serena did this for some kind of access to Nichole, ugh. Scenes between Luke and Waterford should be interesting, since the @ssholery of the latter knows no bounds. |

Trying to wrap my head around Luke and Fred meeting. That development is not doing it for me. Rita is back!! Yay!! |
| LOVED the comeupppances. Especially the Stablerbake. |
| The pen metaphor was once more a little heavy-handed, but it sure was satisfying! |

I actually thought they would have Nichole in the car she got into. Waterford didn’t have a clue in the car. Love how she sort of gave him one last chance to redeem himself when she asked him how he could take away her love of writing. |

I would imagine that Luke requests access to Fred in order to get information about June, but naturally Fred takes the opportunity for a little psychological torture. I wonder if Fred will be offered leniency in sentencing in exchange for cooperation, and whether he will take it. |

Love how she sort of gave him one last chance to redeem himself when she asked him how he could take away her love of writing. And she slept with him one last time to ensure compliance. I love how she flashed the wedding ring rather than the severed finger glove for once. Stupid Fred. |
The Marthas are amazing. |
