I’ve chaperoned groups of high school students to the Holocaust Museum and they still need to be reminded not to talk loud and laugh - and this is inside the museum. These kids were outside the Memorial on the steps when another group walked into the area where they were congregating. Phillips was apparently looking for more publicity and certain members of the media - who hate Trump, MAGA, pro-lifers, and white conservatives generally - were more than happy to oblige.

You are leaving out the fact that the kids gathered around and started heckling the African Israelites. When you chaperone kids, do you allow them to start taunting other groups?

Maybe the African Israelites should be heckled if they are preaching anti-gay crap.

That is being exaggerated, if not outright invented. The African Israelites were reading verses of the bible and attacking racism from America's history. Just before the drumming incident, they were asking, "when was America ever great" and pointing out black spots in US history. That's when the kids got the most riled up. Then one guy started asking the teens why they haven't gotten rid of the lice on their back (this didn't make much sense to me). After the confrontation, however, the African Israelites started saying some pretty offensive things about the Catholic church.

A key point beginning at about 1:10 on the longer video. It is then one kid takes off his all but shorts and shoes, and directs a caveman pose at the black guys. Instigation. It all goes downhill from there. Then the native people step between the black Israelis and the white mob.

This is how I see it as well. I fault the chaperones who should have intervened at that point, if not before.

You can be very sure that the school asked questions and investigated what happened. I'm sure whatever chaperones or adults were there have talked to the administration and they have eyewitness testimony that we will never here.

The GOP has been successful, mostly, at hiding the racists it courts. The danger of this video is that it exposes to the Fox-dupes that their MAGA people are all about hate. (Remember, Fox tells them that white people are the ones who are discriminated against, and that brown people are violent criminals.)

No one at DCUM (ie people who are intelligent) actually believes the gaslighting, do they?
