The US and Iran have agreed to a two-week conditional ceasefire, thanks to a last-minute diplomatic intervention led by Pakistan.

The conditions include a temporary reopening of the strait of Hormuz, but Israel’s position was left unclear, with airstrikes continuing on the Lebanese capital of Beirut.

Both sides have since claimed victory but who, if anyone, is the real winner here?

The US navy will sit outside the gulf and count tankers coming and going for about one or two months. Trump will post on TS that China, India, etc owe the US billions and billions. The US will receive nothing.

In another day or so Tump will move on to Cuba. Republicans, Fox News, NYpost, Twitter, TikTok, all other MSM will never ask or talk about tolls, the Iran war, Middle East, etc. This Iran war will be portrayed as a huge victory for the US and Israel. Congress will approve a massive defense budget increase(north of $2.5 trillion) and restock with the same weapon systems that failed. The weapon system will have huge cost over runs, and not come close to meeting production goals. No new training for the US military on how to fight in a drone rich environment. Maybe add another 2-3 carrier groups because they were useless and vulnerable.

Israel will lobby Congress for more weapons, bombs, economy aid to rebuild Tel Aviv, etc. They will ask for 1.5 trillion but Congress will give them 3 trillion. Most domestic programs including social security and Medicare will be cut to provide the money.

This is the Republicans wet dream come true.

Dude Trump would have agreed to anything. He was desperately begging the Iranians for a ceasefire. The US military is bing on munitions. Even with a translation they still have no clue what they agreed to because they are going break the agreement.

Because they didn't. Both the US and Iran proposals were agreed to be used as the starting point for negotiations.

All these stories are just the last-gasps of the pro-war people trying to scuttle the cease fire.

Israel doing Israel things is the biggest danger. Everything else is able to be finessed around.

We want this to end. Iran wants this to end. The Gulf States want this to end. Asia wants this to end. Europe wants this to end. 99% of the globes interests are aligned. The only one that doesn't want this to end is Israel (and the evangelicals).

Of course Karoline has to spin it as the ceasefire is Iran backing down, not Trump. He’s so tough when it’s not him or his family serving in the military. What a fool.

And the dumb conservatives in the media are saying that this is the perfect reason why Trump should get the Nobel Peace Prize. Over a ceasefire in a war that was his creation?
