It’s so insane and all over the place I have to wonder if it is intentional. If not, he is truly too unfit and incompetent to lead. He is trying to both intimidate Iran beyond belief but also fool his Ally by working with Iran and collecting tolls together???? It’s all such a mess. I guess he wants to keep everyone on their toes.

He was told to surrender and get out if there, but he wants to spin it and rewrite history so he doesn’t look like a complete fool. Which he is. I imagine his cabinet around him, saying “the sky is red, sir” when it’s clearly blue. And he just believes everything.

Israel doesn't want a ceasefire so continuing to attack Lebanon is the perfect excuse to prolong this conflict

What’s even more surprising is Iran didn’t need fancy aircraft carriers or defense systems. All they needed was cheap drones, ballistic and hypersonic missiles. They haven’t even used their top tier equipment. They are playing this smart. Meanwhile, we are losing and using so much expensive planes, missile defense radar systems, and other gadgets that have all been tested and at worst destroyed by Iran. We’ve lost hundreds of billions of dollars already in just 30 days of war

The concept of asymmetric war is over 100 years, going back to the invention of the airplane, or over 1000 years old, going back to teh invention of the siege.

If Israel stops bombing Iran and Iran avoids retaliatiatory attacks against US bases then we should be fine.

Israel's about to destroy their newfound Gulf friendships and put their unlimited US funding on the line with their bloodlust.

Trump is, at the end, predictable. He blusters, throws his considerable weight around (literally and figuratively), then in the end, backs off because, thankfully, people, other than the R politicians, stand up to bullies. I hate bullies with a passion.

I am a former R and have always believed in strong foreign policy and supported Israel. I stopped supporting Israel years ago when they kept bullying the Palestinian people. Trump's foreign policy is an unmitigated disaster, both in his first administration and the current one.

WTF happened to the R party? Hegseth.. really? Rs are so pathetic.

Maybe there is a method to his madness? Maybe the bluster is calculated on his end to get Israel off his back

Sure, Trump has a method of acting to crazy to get people to back of and give him his way, but his thinking is very, very short-term, and his goals are selfish, corrupt, and criminal.

To be fair, that is his working style. He comes the world of real estate deal making, where everything is a no-rules game to get a payout.

I saw that in the guardian and posted it in another thread. Three cheers for Spain! My favorite quote this far.

A US official told The Guardian on Wednesday that a 10-point ceasefire plan published by Iran is not the same set of conditions that were agreed to by the White House for pausing the war.

“The document being reported by media outlets is not the working framework,” the senior official told AFP on condition of anonymity.

The Farsi version differs from the English one. I think trumps cabinet rewrote it so trump thinks everything is roses and sunshine.

What is the US role in this joint toll business with Iran? Do we tell Saudi Arabia how unfortunate it would be if Iranian missiles don't get shot down due to lack of toll payments (funding)?

The Iranians said they'll split the toll with Oman. Trump babbled about joint venture with Iran. I'm suspecting this is like those negotiations, party of one that he had earlier.
