| Saw a group of 6 men tackling their alley together this afternoon. Not waiting around for the government to save them, not hiring it out for top dollar, not getting online whining. Inspirational. A lot of the teachers on here could learn something from them. If they can get themselves away from “virtual school”. |
+1 The wolf of the private school community. Holton to Big 3? |
yes my daughter’s 60 year old calculus teacher should pull herself up by her boot straps and shovel herself out. what is wrong with you. |
No, I'd rather chill while you watch your own kids. But I'll throw an extra slide on Google Classroom for you tomorrow. Should get you 5 more minutes of quiet. |
Don’t know. But with below freezing temperatures it’s going to be a nightmare. |
Not every teacher is in he position to do that. Gosh! |
I’m a private school teacher. I can’t get out of my street because it still hasn’t been plowed, so I can’t get to our school to help shovel it out. I did go up and down my street and help my neighbors with sidewalks and driveways, though. Does that qualify in your mind? Is that also inspirational? Or because it somehow doesn’t benefit you (such as getting school to open earlier), am I still just a whining teacher who needs to “learn something”? |
Dear everyone else, this is almost certainly a troll post. |
| Well anyone who is still “stuck” by now is going to remain stuck past next week. |
OMG! What a snob you must be. And what an ableist comment! Sorry you didn’t see me and my kids hacking at ice with shovels. We’re able to uncover 2 steps from our front door and 2 squares of the sidewalk. We are working for hours a day until our bodies can’t do anymore in between answering little Larla’s email with yet another excuse as to why she can’t be held accountable or decline an invite to yet another board reception because we can’t bite our tongue when we want to tell people what it’s really like at these schools!!!!! |
| I find it impossible to believe there are still streets that are not drivable. There has to be tire paths you can drive on by now, that you can access with a little shoveling of the path out of your driveway. Trucks and SUVs are just driving wherever they want. |
| The people on this thread are why teachers quit teaching. |
They probably ARE teachers. |
LOVE THIS COMMENT! So very true. |
| A favorite game at my DC private is to place bets on which parent wrote each crazy comment in these threads. So keep em coming! |
