Twice a year mandatory HEIGHT EXAMS

I think it means the "height AND weight" standards --- meaning you have a certain weight standard based on your height. They are not expecting people to grow taller, or suspicious that people are shrinking out of normal height.

So they are going to fire people with too much muscle?

There is a way around that. Been using it for years. Tape test. When I worked in a DOD office, the fittest guy there failed the height/weight because he was so much muscle. There is some measurement they use. (This was before the Army went "woke.") He passed and that will be the same here, I'm sure.

BMI is what they use and it’s a terrible way to measure anyone who is athletic. Muscle is heavy.

Hegseth can’t meet the requirements himself.

So he skips pull ups and leg day.

Hopefully Option 4: Wait it out. Maybe, just maybe some externality will change the landscape before Trump sics (more) troops on citizens.

Your #4 is the most likely. No one should resign. They need to stay there and refuse unlawful orders. No coup-we do not want a military coup unless things are really really really bad. Those never work out.

Trump met with Bibi a couple days ago, these orders are obviously coming straight from the top.

I've seen that video before. Could it be that one pull up in that four second video is the last of a bunch of pull ups?

I agree. I don't mind high physical standards for the rank and file or officers in combat roles. Top generals... eh. They're old. They're valued for their experience and maturity, not their ability to do push-ups.

And the rest is grounds for impeachment and the 25th. No politicization of the military. No going after one's own country. What the hell.

NGL, I was always a little nervous about my 52 year old DH testing alongside 25 year olds and having to prove he was still fast and strong. These people are all competitive. That kind of thing gets scary as we get older.

Yep. My husband is 64, and in recent years has increased his workouts. He gets up randomly to do pull-ups and push-ups and whatnots. Competitive until he dies.

They initially were reporting, but I think they saw how embarrassing it was and decided to save face.

It’s possible. But everything about this guy’s character, history, and resume makes it entirely believable that he’s all bluster.

I'm excited this is what the talk was about. I'd much rather they spend time talking about warrior ethos than actually putting it into action.

Prohibited people can’t possess firearms anywhere.

Stolen firearms possessed illegally are, by definition, against the law.

Possession of a handgun under the age of 21 is illegal in D.C.

Possession of a large capacity magazine by almost anyone is a felony in D.C.

Are you even remotely aware of the laws?

And Trump said they were not going to prosecute gun laws in DC anymore. Clearly he meant just for White people.

Source please? I’ll wait.

The GOP has been weakening DC gun laws since McCain. He overturned a voter referendum on gun control. Trump made it easier for mental health challenges to buy a gun in his first term and now in the crime-ridden of hellhole of DC >> this!

GOP doesn't care about crime. They never have.

Pete did 50 pull ups and 100 push ups in about 5 1/2 minutes as part of the Pete and Bobby challenge.

Say what you want about the guy, he is in good shape.
