It was an embarrassing failure. They completely humiliated and discredited themselves in front of that audience.

Not if you read Fox News and its comments. Trumpies are loving it. I would not be surprised if a majority of people in that audience also agreed with what was being said. The military, including its officers, are majority pro-Trump. They might roll their eyes, but don't be shocked when they fall into line and start sending in our army to round up US citizens the way that the army rounded up US citizens during WWII. And this Supreme Court will allow it, Korematsu and all.

+1. Pretty much all the military members I am friends with on Facebook were openly cheering this in posts.

Ain't no way these so-called friends are active duty. For many reasons, for years, it has been drilled into both uniform and civilian DoD personnel to not post on social media.

Ok, if you say so. Actually a couple of the posts were from their spouses, not the members themselves. So you’re right, not all of them were posting.

Look, I’m not going to go so far and call you a partisan liar, but I will say that if this true, those wives are dumbasses and are putting their husbands’ career in peril. I mean I guess it’s okay if they plan on exiting the service at the completion of Trump’s term. They should know that the military has long memories.

Spouses are not subject to the same rules about sharing political views.

DP. I don’t think it’s relevant whatsoever what some random poster’s military spouse FB friends thought about that debacle. But, as a counterpoint, I live in a military-heavy area and have tons of military spouses for FB friends, and not a single one of them posted anything in support of it.

Thank you for addressing the dependapotamuses by their husbands' rank!

Huh?

It’s a misogynistic derogatory nickname for military wives. PP is just an @$$hole who hates women.

I had no idea. I just thought it was a clever reference to a type of stolen valor where like an MD's wife thinks she's the doctor. Had no idea it was a play on weight. https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/dependapotamus

PP above is clearly lying. That post has all the hallmarks of the current disinformation campaign being run.

lol they cheered in North Carolina and they are cheering now. The US military will level US cities and wonder why everyone hate them.

It’s time to break this country apart. You can become North Korean and the blue states can join Canada and NATO.

Not the optics that Hegseth is looking for.

If Hegseth's standards end up disqualifying women and men of color and LGBQT folks . . . I guess that means the white men will be sent off to fight in foreign wars to get killed, maimed, PTSD? While the women and POC and LGBQT stay home in America, safe and sound?

What does he expect of men and women who typically serve after bootcamp only one weekend per month and two weeks per year, unless called up to special duty for natural disasters and/or fascist invasions of blue American cities???

These National Guardspeople live in the same obesogenic environment as the rest of America, endure the same stressors of balancing fulltime work (and a second job!) with family obligations, eating crap on the run because nobody has time to cook nourishing whole food meals at home, etc.

Active duty military have more time to hit the gym but still not all that much. Meanwhile they frequently use food banks not just in the time of government shutdowns because the pay is crap - and food bank food is lots of cheap carbs, not lots of lean proteins and fresh fruits and veggies.

Hegseth is a spoiled punk Fox News personality who should be focused on fixing these issues that plague service people's lives instead of mocking and berating them.

All the Trump supporters serving with my nephew just turned on Trump over his comments about furlough backpay.
