You’re all paying customers after all. You’re paying to be put second to someone else’s prior commitments. And you’re paying for a club that’s been without a DOC and TD for a while now.

I don't understand the dismissive attitude towards NM. All I know is there are dozens of players playing at the professional and college level who would praise NM. From what I read here, the problem is about the dysfunction of the organization and not the ability of the coaches to develop young players.

Dozens may praise, but hundreds+ will tell you the opposite.

This. His reputation precedes him.

I keep hearing about this bad reputation, but have no idea what he has actually done. What does his “bad reputation” stem from?

Being tough and wanting to make money. Neither things I have an issue with personally but those are the main gripes about him. People whose daughters have been successful under his coaching will tell you the toughness was key and that he deserves every penny he makes. Those who did not do well under him, do not like him. It’s the same with almost every coach but one thing NM has is a resume to back it up. He has been at many clubs but never got fired for not being successful, it was usually financial disagreements of some sort.

And a lot of the rumors about him are spread by coaches like GD who are intimidated by him because he is more successful at higher levels than GD has ever been.

It's all about what you value. Some parents value winning and development of their player and don't care if he's getting paid more than anyone else. Other people care more about his salary, his personal life and how he is carrying himself. There aren't many neutral people on here, you either came to bash someone or you came to defend them.

Then there are some of us who follow this forum like a soap opera and to entertain ourselves

One search of NM brings up his reputation. Herndon had a discussion about him a while ago and earlier in this thread someone mentioned ECNL probation. Not here to bash, just here for DS to actually progress in a club that cares about him.

There is zero truth to the ECNL probation. Zero. It was a lie to tarnish his reputation.

I don't think the rumors about an ECNL probation are why he was fired. I think his charm wore off and revealed some of his motives.

What problem did he have at herndon?

I would take anything anyone from HYS says about him with a grain of salt. He was able to start a brand new soccer club with all the people who left HYS to follow him so there's nothing but sour grapes there.

Herndon wanted him to have TF fold into HYS and there was disagreements about that.

So at what point are you allowed to talk about NM from both sides? I agree he’s a great coach, but every time someone brings up something about RS and NM it’s “unfair” and “bashing”.

Really? I see lots more people doing bashing of them than defending them.
