GFR Falling apart?

Lol. Do a survey of GFR parents to see how many could pick either of these guys out of a lineup. Almost nobody, would be my bet!

One of them was my DDs coach at GFR and probably the best she's had. I could easily recognize either of them, and never had any doubt about their commitment to the team, whatever other responsibilities they had.

GFR had several of the best teams girls youth teams in the area and some may say the country (GFR 14G, 15G Blue). Several elite players bailed and left early and throughout the year for the 2014s and all but 1 player left the 2015G at the end of this year going to McLean, Bethesda, and other clubs. Ego's, uncertainty, and drama rubbed many the wrong way. It was a shame to see such great teams ruined.

The 2009's are a mess now too - what was once the best non-GA/ECNL 09 girls team in the state is now a shell of itself.

That’s great. Your DD’s team is one of about 2 that they interacted with. Talk to a boy parent, or any of Gus’ teams, etc, etc.

Uh. Gus told NM to stay away from his teams and refused to report to NM. Badmouthed him to anyone who would listen.

I did say some and in their age group, yes. The point was that GFR had very good youth teams on the girls side at 2014 and 2015. Making it to the quarterfinals in the top bracket at SuperCopa for the 2015s does make them pretty good, fool. Get out of your mom’s basement, stop trolling.

Question was about their ability to coach multiple teams. They can coach, I've witnessed it, and the quality did not seem to be affected by how many teams they have. Can't speak to the boys side sour grapes or how they performed other roles, but hard to evaluate when their year was interrupted by shenanigans from former boys side coaches.

They aren’t at GFR to coach a team or two, they are there to run the whole damn program.

Great. Hopefully they'll have a chance to do it this year without interference from jumped-up rec-parent coaches. I look forward to it.
