DA vs ECNL vs everything else

Are we paying for wins or for development? WS is getting the work of development done. Yes, if I just needed my DD on a winning team, I'd run over to FCV or better yet, we could have stayed with her ECNL team. WS is doing what we came to it to do.

05 and younger will be the tipping point, but the 04 and older teams aren't just throw away teams either. Year 1 as a start up club went pretty much as expected. WS had no feeder teams to pull from. Given that, the older teams show that players at all ages were hungry for development. All the returning teams will have a consolidation of talent.

Yep. Tell your buddy who is claiming his DD's WS team is better than team X, Y, Z. Y'all claim development when it suits you and then boast about future team strength gained by new players coming in the same breath. Make up your mind.

There is no need to explain your WS selection to one or two Loudoun ECNL parents with 5th grade players.

They will learn soon enough like we all did.

U9 parents are like children. Better seen and not heard.

Lol.

I kid. I kid

Meanwhile FCV parents believe that past success ensures future success.

Lol!! You're right. I remember when the boys DA came out, and I saw the same amount of denial, the same ridiculous comments, etc.

Very few are capable of being pioneers, taking that risk and having their butts out there, on the line...

Quite the opposite here. Every year there is change. Past success gets you nothing, and there is no predicting the future. Youth soccer decisions must be made every year.

Thanks coach. If you are so awesome at developing players then why do so many decisions need to be made every year and why the need to bring in entire teams. It seems to me you give up on kids not develop them.

I still don't understand the FCV bashing. It seems petty.

Oh I get it. You are the same savant who can tell who is posting anonymously. I am not a coach, much less an fcv coach. Just a lowly parent flailing in the cesspool of youth soccer.

Awww poor FCV. If the club would just admit that they would rather take shortcuts and recruit over actually develop them they wouldn’t be hypocritical, they’d just be arrogant d-bags who yell at kids.

Well you freely chose a cesspool in FCV.

Serious question for brave WS crew. If your record does not show marked improvement next year, and the next, how long will you stick with it?

Team wins do not equate player growth or development.

Serious question for FCV parent. If you’re kid is not starting but the team is winning, how long will you stick it out?

As long as the coaching quality remains as high as it has been (and quite frankly I believe next year will be even higher with Cole and Henderson now part of the coaching team) and my DD continues to develop with the positive coaching style she has been getting. I won't continue to put her somewhere to be verbally abused and excessively berated.

A clever scout can tell the difference between a low level player and a high level player surrounded by less players. The feedback we get from US soccer scouts shows they know the difference; they see what my DD can do.
