He has spent so much time this week and weekend at the White House, working with PR guys, trying to spin this, to win. He hasn't taken a moment to stop and think. He really needs to do that.

Wonder if Davis is still “unfazed”?

This looks like it is related to what Judge's college girlfriend said about Judge in the Farrow article. (Judge denied it.)

The disservice was knowing he was no angle and some of this stuff was going to come out, and proceeding anyhow.

I guess people will do anything to get $200k of debt paid off for them.

The article said that when the New Yorker first talked to her, she was uncertain, but after six days with her lawyer, she was. Really?

No eyewitnesses will corroborate her story-so far.

So, get all the people who are verifying her story--even though they were not there--to submit statements to the committee. And, get those who were there, according to Ramirez to also submit statements.
If she gets witnesses to verify, then, Houston, we have a problem.

And, get Ramiriez to submit a sworn statement to the committee tomorrow.

Yeah. Wow.

No wonder McConnell didn’t want Judge testifying. Crikey.

This is what happens when you've never gotten caught, never been told no.

He likely didn't think anyone would know or care about his youthful hijinks.

Is it me or is the worst thing about this that Senate Republicans apparently caught wind of this and then decided to move up the hearing/vote.

Their cravenness knows absolutely no bounds anymore.

I’m a woman and not one shred of my being believes any of this. It’s simply not credible or substantiated in any way. This kind of underhanded slander that can come out of nowhere and destroy someone for no reason is truly alarming.

I saw this kind of garbage several times in the 80's. All of the guys are now productive members of society, but don't pretend that they were choir boys in their youth.

So that these events occurred, I have no doubt. I can't verify who was involved in the kavanaugh allegations, of course.

If Kavanaugh had gone with this, he'd be fine right now. But he didn't.

Easy to say in hindsight and most likely, no, he wouldn’t be fine right now

Those poor, poor women.

And eff the yahoos who’ll jump on here to defend him, especially the women. Do you understand? Can you get this through your thick skulls? Women are not human to these men, and these men, be they Republican or Democrat, should be charged, tried and left to wild dogs.

But it seems these ones are conservatives, so let’s start with these ones.

Why did Kavanaugh think it was okay to put his two daughters into this, knowing fully well what a scum he has been. While I care about his wife, she might have known and being an adult she can handle. But the daughters, what would they go through when all this plays on media.

What the heck, in addition to being a pervert is is also narcissistic!

Anonymous wrote:You know what makes your post so utterly ridiculous? This may come as a shock to you, but Republicans are also, <gasp> victims of sexual assault. You think they don’t care about victims when they are victims themselves? Do you even comprehend how ridiculous you sound?

Most of us are highly critical of the version of events Dr. Ford is putting forward because they lack details, the others she said were present are disputing her account, some of the details she has claimed are contradictory to other statements she presumably has made, and it happened 36 years ago.

Do you really suppose that surprises me?

To a woman, every Republican woman on this thread who is also a victim of sexual violence has had nothing but criticism for Kavanaugh’s alleged victim. When she was anonymous, she was a coward. When she came forward, it wasn’t fast enough. She shouldn’t have come forward if she didn’t report it back that. She shouldn’t have come forward at all because it doesn’t rise to the level of serious enough in your minds. You rely on biased, right wing media that feeds you the most anti-woman, anti-victim predictable smears.

Do you know why I suspect you all do this, beyond a partisan zeal that that small segment of remaining Republican women share? I think you do it because you have internalized all the nasty, misogynist messages you’ve been fed. On some level you think it’s her fault that this happened and you think it’s your fault that you were assaulted. It is not your fault that he assaulted you. It’s not. You didn’t do anything wrong. You could report or not, as feels comfortable to you. You can talk about it now or not. But I do pray that you find peace and benefit of the doubt for a fellow victim. Peace be with you.

Thanks for the platitudes. I guarantee that none of the women you're referring to (Republican women - way to divide us) feel their sexual assaults were in any way "their" fault. But one thing many non-liberal women seem to agree on is that victims need to consistently report assaults immediately. I think there's a lot of consensus that waiting 35+ years to report an allegation does nothing for your credibility. Which is a shame, but completely realistic. That's something liberals don't seem able to acknowledge.

If Kavanaugh withdraws, will he have to pay back the $200K? Surely that gift had strings attached.

They were all confident that the vote would be rammed through before any of this came to light.
