Their cravenness knows absolutely no bounds anymore.

I’m telling you, they know Mueller is coming and his arrival must be functionally imminent.

But even if he isn’t, remember this ladies: how doggedly the GOP worked to throw an accused GANG RAPIST onto the Supreme Court.

Jeff would delete this if I put my true feelings into words on here.

This. What is your excuse, Senate GOP, for denying an investigation into this guy prior to a lifetime appt on the Highest Court in the land when you knew there was all these allegations out there. While we are at it, on what reasonable planet do you deny your colleagues and the American public access to his files for a thorough vetting?

Most of us are highly critical of the version of events Dr. Ford is putting forward because they lack details, the others she said were present are disputing her account, some of the details she has claimed are contradictory to other statements she presumably has made, and it happened 36 years ago.

Do you really suppose that surprises me?

To a woman, every Republican woman on this thread who is also a victim of sexual violence has had nothing but criticism for Kavanaugh’s alleged victim. When she was anonymous, she was a coward. When she came forward, it wasn’t fast enough. She shouldn’t have come forward if she didn’t report it back that. She shouldn’t have come forward at all because it doesn’t rise to the level of serious enough in your minds. You rely on biased, right wing media that feeds you the most anti-woman, anti-victim predictable smears.

Do you know why I suspect you all do this, beyond a partisan zeal that that small segment of remaining Republican women share? I think you do it because you have internalized all the nasty, misogynist messages you’ve been fed. On some level you think it’s her fault that this happened and you think it’s your fault that you were assaulted. It is not your fault that he assaulted you. It’s not. You didn’t do anything wrong. You could report or not, as feels comfortable to you. You can talk about it now or not. But I do pray that you find peace and benefit of the doubt for a fellow victim. Peace be with you.

Thanks for the platitudes. I guarantee that none of the women you're referring to (Republican women - way to divide us) feel their sexual assaults were in any way "their" fault. But one thing many non-liberal women seem to agree on is that victims need to consistently report assaults immediately. I think there's a lot of consensus that waiting 35+ years to report an allegation does nothing for your credibility. Which is a shame, but completely realistic. That's something liberals don't seem able to acknowledge.

I'd be inclined to believe you but something tells me you'd have been the first one leading the torch and pitchfork brigade had this been a Democratic nominee.

You can't possibly back this up. A couple of these women are saying that flimsy allegations like Ford's undermines women assault victims who do have substantial allegations.

Exactly. I don't know whether Ford is telling the truth or not. Her account seems credible. But with zero evidence or witnesses, and three decades since the alleged incident occurred - is it any wonder many people are doubtful? And accounts like this - in which NO RAPE even occurred - really do diminish the real victims of sexual assault. No wonder women are looked at as silly. Situations like this certainly don't help.

And you’re supporting an accused gang rapist? You may take all the seats.

Nothing has changed. Yertle’s got some ‘splainin to do. Is he still going to “plow this through.”

You just go on suspecting that. Nothing I will say will change your mind. Not the fact that all those who were allegedly at this party have written statements, applicable to penalties of perjury, that they have no knowledge of such a party. Not the fact that she claims 4 males were at the party, when now it is 3 males and 1 female. Not the fact that her therapist’s notes contradict her story. Not the fact that she cannot remember pretty significant details like what year this alleged assault happened, what house it happened in, or how she arrived at this party and got home. These are just some of the FACTS on which most of us are basing our thinking. It has nothing to do with what you think we have been “fed.” It has nothing to do with anything that may or may not have happened to us. You just don’t understand that the few facts that we know indicate there is a reason to be skeptical of her version of events.

+1

The assumption that women who doubt Ford's story are just docile Republican ewes is insulting. Some of us aren't Republican. We are just women who can think critically and don't accept being spoonfed views from the defeat Kavanaugh at all costs people.

I'm a non-Republican woman and couldn't agree more.

What the heck, in addition to being a pervert is is also narcissistic!

I hope Mrs Kavanaugh leaves him, DC, and changes her name and theirs. Those poor little girls.

I read someone's thread about the potential for impeachment after Kavanaugh is confirmed and if the Democrats take the House and the Senate. While it's never happened before, if the Court swings far to the right, out of sync with the country, and if the government swings to the left, then strange things will start to happen.

I feel like we're already seeing those strange things happening at the mere possiblity of Kavanaugh being confirmed.

I’m sure sees Trump sees no problem with all this, especially the Avenatti allegations. Donald probably has more respect for Kavanaugh after all this. He may well double down like he did for Roy Moore.

Also, perhaps some GOP women pp's here are resigned to denying, ignoring or condoning their own DH's bad behavior because they like the lifestyle benefits

You're right. You must be! I seem to know the intimate details of GOP women. I'm not one, btw, but I can assure you there are just as many badly behaved "liberal" men. Perhaps you've grown used to your own "lifestyle benefits."
