Where the hell did you go to college?

University of Iowa, c/o 2008. I'm surprised anyone is surprised?

I went to a SLAC that I won't name. graduated in 2000. I saw much crazier drunken and druggy behavior. I'm not surprised. The thing is, none of my crowd is nominated for SCOTUS, nor will we ever be.

Nobody gets nominated to the Supreme Court unless they went to Yale or Harvard. Full stop.

Did you think that was the point of my post?

Lame.

Also from the New Yorker...

“Senior Republican staffers also learned of the allegation last week and, in conversations with The New Yorker, expressed concern about its potential impact on Kavanaugh’s nomination. Soon after, Senate Repubs issued renewed calls to accelerate the timing of a committee vote"

Now we know why Yertle the Turtle was so anxious to have the vote last week.

Kavanaugh dragging his heels on calling it quits is a disservice to his family.

Nope. Just using your post to segue into my own grousing about the lock Yale & Harvard seem to have on Supreme Court positions. (Lots of great legal minds elsewhere).

I’m a woman and I agree completely.

You didn’t go to college? It seems if you did, you would find this credible.

I attended an HYP in the 1980s and there was a lot of MK-style behavior. But not everybody was a mysoginistic ass when drunk, and not everybody should be on the SC.

The worst is that all this just adds to his pattern of lying. I’d have worlds more respect for him if he said, “I was part of an ugly culture in my teens. I regret it.” Saying “Nope, never did anything of the sort” is more entitled BS.

I'm not the poster you responded to, but I think that when people say it's not credible they mean that there's not sufficient evidence to give it credibility. Not that the idea of something like this happening is implausible.

His,life is far from destroyed. But if I were him, I would be demanding an FBI investigation to clear my name. At least, if I was innocent.

The point is this is all so kafkaesque that the mere allegation does the damage. No investigation can possibly uncover the truth in this situation, I mean, come on.

You can’t complain an allegation is false, amd then resist any attempt at investigation. The reason the accusers are calling for an investigation is that they know there are other women who are not willing to go public but may talk to the FBI. And witnesses who can corroborate excessive drinking by Kavanaugh and what his personality was at those times. For the same reason, he is fighting it,

I saw this kind of garbage several times in the 80's. All of the guys are now productive members of society, but don't pretend that they were choir boys in their youth.

So that these events occurred, I have no doubt. I can't verify who was involved in the kavanaugh allegations, of course.

If Kavanaugh had gone with this, he'd be fine right now. But he didn't.

He probably would have gotten through, but anyone that has a sordid, but reformed! background and also has a judicial philosophy that punishes people for similar mistakes is a problem.

Seriously. And the email corroborates another part of the New Yorker article - where Judge admitted to a woman that he engaged in these acts.

Ed Whelan is frantically mapping the Yale campus common rooms right about now.

Kavanaugh is searching for his freshman year “calendar” for red letter days.

Trump’s about ready to fire off another attack on another woman.

Here we go again.
