I’d bump her up to the next tier. The first tier being Warren and Rice - their experience is far superior to the rest of the candidates.

No, actually, winning statewide and governing a state is a very strong qualification. This is why so few women have become governors - it's incredibly challenging to get elected as a woman. Tammy Baldwin - has NEVER been governor. Rice has less experience than any of the people you mentioned. She has been sitting around waiting for DC statehood so she can take over for EHN for 20 years...

Sorry. I meant it say being a Senator for Baldwin. Rice is not only a brilliant Rhodes Scholar, she has been advising potential Democratic Presidents on Fire policy since Dukakis. She has been directly in the room and involved in Foreign policy decisions in the Obama Administration for 8 years. She dealt domestically and internationally with Ebola successfully. She had the foresight to prepare a pandemic playbook since she was the lead on global health issues. She is currently heading up DC’s response to Covid. She has been to more state dinners than Trump ever dreamed of. I don’t care if she has never run for elected office neither had Trump. Whitney’s claim to fame is being elected to Governor that doesn’t make her more experienced. Besides, Biden has shown he can get the votes without either one of them. And right now he is pulling way ahead of Trump in Midwest states such as Wisconsin.

Isn't that a win/win?

WHO CARES ABOUT GOV OF MICHIGAN WHEN THE VP SLOT IS AT STAKE.

Whitmer immediately stepping down as Gov. promotes a black man into higher office, he'd be the FIRST Black Michigan gov in history and ONLY Black gov in the US during a historic election. Seems like a win/win to me.

If that was what was critical, she should resign today.

Whitmer has been a Governor for a whopping 2.5 years!! Her own Democratic leaders in Michigan say it shouldn’t be her as someone else pointed out. Are you on her PR team?

That sub-heading is offensive. I didn't even bother to click.

The question is would she do it, period? Has anyone ever resigned immediately to run for another higher office? Obviously quite risky. But Biden is the clear favorite, so it's not a totally unreasonable request, imo. Great optics, too.

Pete caught it and Biden is a lucky man!

We all know its Harris. Her VP-in-waiting twitter game has been on fire all summer.

Who's Whitney? Can't even trouble yourself to remember her name. She was elected and has governed during a pandemic (as a DC resident - I have to laugh at Rice heading up DC's response to Covid - she has not, and the response has been AWFUL). She has very high approval ratings - I'm sure you are a "cuomosexual" on twitter but can't bring yourself to credit a single woman governor....classy.

I think the point is she should resign regardless of whether she is the VP pick.

People are saying this because of a private jet. But this could be Duckworth, couldn't it? Chicago to South Bend is only like a 1 hour drive. And she may have figured it would be under the radar verse using a Chicago airport? Or just as simple as so and so's jet is in South Bend, you'll have to drive there to use it.

Resorting to name calling is telling. I am no Cuomo fan and don’t even have a Twitter account. No one is saying that Whitmer (autocorrect issue) is doing a poor job in the current crisis. She is definitely holding her own as are many Governors including those in Rhode Island and New Mexico. That doesn’t, however, put her in the same tier as others with respect to national or foreign experience. It just doesn’t.

Yep, all these horrible white women running states should immediately resign and give their jobs to male POC. If we absolutely cannot find a male POC, then we will will accept a female POC. White men can stay, we always reserve are hatred for the women types. But all white women must immediately quit their jobs and go home. They only got their positions because of men. They are white women - they clearly could not have earned them of their own merit. They are all fat or stupid or ugly or whores and their voices...so shrill. They wear horrible shades of lipstick. They cannot style their hair appropriately - we must comment upon it endlessly.
