I earned $110,000 in bets during the Democratic by correctly predicting that Biden was going to end up clinching the nomination . I have had two separate bets for the general: A) if Biden picks a non minority ,trump gets reelected and I'll pocket $150k. B) if he picks a minority ,trump loses and I'll pocket $100k. Either way , I'm getting paid handsomely.

There's a dark cynicism in me that wants Biden to pick a white woman. I'm confident that on election night , trump's sparkly veneers will be what you'll be seeing.

I do agree with this. I think its high time women (and everyone else too) voted for the most experienced and capable leader. There is no point pandering to the white/women/suburban swing voters in the Midwest. Why can't those women think broader and vote for the more qualified black woman? Makes no sense nominating the lowest common denominator.

Um, ELIZABETH WARREN is as qualified as any of the black candidates.

Never said Warren is not equal to Rice/Harris. But Whitmer is not equal to Rice/Harris.

PredictIt has Rice and Harris almost at a tie.

What if it's Whitmer and to tamp down this anti-white woman VP "backlash" ( ) she'll step down immediately, thus making her Black Lt. Gov the new governor effective immediately? He'd be first Black gov in Michigan history and the only sitting Black gov in the US.

Isn't that a win/win?

I don’t know what the obsession is with Whitmer. She is third tier in terms of qualifications as are all the Governors in contention - New Mexico’s, Rhode Island’s and Michigan’s. Next tier are the Junior Congresswoman and Senators - Harris, Duckworth, Demings and Baldwin. The exception being Tammy Baldwin who spent 14 years in Congress before becoming Governor. I’d bump her up to the next tier. The first tier being Warren and Rice - their experience is far superior to the rest of the candidates.

Whitmer is equal to Harris and arguendo more qualified than Rice. Hardly a "lowest common denominator." Yikes.

+1

Warren and Rice are the top tier as per me, for very different things they bring to the table.

No, actually, winning statewide and governing a state is a very strong qualification. This is why so few women have become governors - it's incredibly challenging to get elected as a woman. Tammy Baldwin - has NEVER been governor. Rice has less experience than any of the people you mentioned. She has been sitting around waiting for DC statehood so she can take over for EHN for 20 years...

I have to agree with the PP (though not with the use of all CAPS). Obama was choosing between Evan Bayh, Tim Kaine and Biden and chose Biden because he was an elder statesman to balance out Obama’s relative inexperience. And 20 years later here we are with the former VP as the leader of the Democratic Party, helped in large about due to the big increase in name recognition that being VP brings.

Whitmer immediately stepping down as Gov. promotes a black man into higher office, he'd be the FIRST Black Michigan gov in history and ONLY Black gov in the US during a historic election. Seems like a win/win to me.

Allegedly Kamala just unfollowed Biden on twitter? And I think her ex boyfriend floating this suggests he knows she's not being picked.
