it doesn't sound like much of a lie - was the cash in the envelope already or did you see the person put the cash in the envelope. Something minor about when she was told to get it.

The fact that teh assistant went to home depot and was ordering stuff for studio right afterwards makes me think there is no involvement
I found the description in the charging document shown in Bruce Leshan's tweet to be rather confusing: https://twitter.com/BruceLeshan/status/601823625021370368

NO. The asst. originally said he left the $40,000 on the front door step. He later said that was wrong: he opened the garage, opened the car in the garage and put the money on the front passenger seat. The type of envelope changed from manila envelope to red bag of sometype (is that right?)

Anyway, these are pretty significant changes and I do not understand why asst. "misremembered."

And, I believe, it was changed from getting money from bank to getting it from another guy.

Phillip may have been unconscious when he died from the fire. The fire and the stabbing killed him. I wish it were smoke inhalation. The terror that family went through is astounding.

Maybe the police are hoping if they let the other people go, they will lead them to more evidence they can use against Wint and the co-conspirators?

The only person in custody is Daron Wint. All others have been released per the Cheif on CNN.

What the! Attorneys -- please tell us WHY these people who were harboring a fugitive allowed to be released!

this article: http://abcnews.go.com/US/dc-mansion-murders-inside-search-arrest-suspect-daron/story?id=31233741 states that no one else besides DW was even arrested in the first place. Last line of the article: Law enforcement sources have told ABC News that none of the others traveling with Wint were arrested. Wint is the only one facing charges at this time.

WTH. and why is the media so bad at getting any of the facts straight??

answering my own question, fr. wiki
"Cowlings was charged with a felony for aiding a fugitive, and released with $250,000 bail.[7] District Attorney Gil Garcetti said, however, that Cowlings would not be charged due to a lack of evidence."

For you too young to remember, AC drive OJ around but that was more of a chase.

I bet they helped the police to get him. I wonder if they provided the details as to his whereabouts.

they could easily say this was the case but how could they prove it and how would police ever believe that

So what are the odds there are still some killers on the loose and in our midst? Have the police given any indication whether people should be on alert?

Actually it was more like a 35 mph parade straight back to OJs house. That kind of shit doesn't happen anymore. But that's off topic.

The assistant admitted lying to the police about when to get and where to leave the package. Why would they do this?

Assistant sent a text to a friend of the stack of cash he was to transport.

I just read that there is a red car missing from the house - the same one, presumably, that the assistant put the money in.
