Ny families lost 50 thousand souls that had to say their good byes over facetime. Spare yourself. I hope you never have to do it even if it even if it would help you not be such a jack.
Florida did not so hot either Ms. spare me. |
I am not a lawyer but by referring to COVID-19 vaccines as “vaccines” rather than gene therapies it could fall under this. Law people feel free to weigh in. https://www.ftc.gov/enforcement/statutes/covid-19-consumer-protection-act-2021-consolidated-appropriations-act |
Massage therapist. That is really entitled during a pandemic. You are why we have the spread. |
She is legally open and following all local health rules, she only allows vaccinated clients, I am fully vaccinated, she is fully vaccinated. Not seeing the issue. I suppose you are in the subset of antivaxxers who want the world to stay in their basements forever so you don't have FOMO. |
Oh yeah, does't everyone remember that it first appeared after vacation season from wealthy travelers jaunting about the globe on their cruises and ski trips? |
So according to this thread, the only (sourced, named) places requiring a vaccine are some universities starting next year? This reminds me of when Massachusetts required the flu vaccine for school kids, which they subsequently had to walk back. Time will tell. |
Seems like it. And universities are uniquely able to have such rules, since they can give the students months of time to get vaccinated and provide proof. But, I doubt they'll be requiring proof of vaccination at the campus store or Starbucks. That's quite different from, say, Safeway or the Nike Store. I doubt either of those companies want to task employees to confirm health records. Especially in light of the fact that there isn't any national system of proof on the horizon. |
There will be a market for pro vaccine businesses and a market aimed at those happy to swim in the viral stew. Anyone not expecting both is not paying attention. |
Considering that retail workers might get punched out for even asking people to wear masks, I doubt they will be able to confirm vaccines. It's one of the reasons I am not going back to my public facing career; I am tired of how stupid the general public act and I have the luxury of peacing out and finding a new job / career. Not going to college is probably the only penalty the anti-vaxxers will face, and I'm sure that super right wing and fundie universities won't require a covid vaccine anyhow. |
+1 |
Ahem, I take umbrage at the term anti-vaxxer. It is discriminatory and inflammatory. Get it right it's pro immunity/body autonomy. |
I don't think retail is likely to require it. Specialists who can turn away customers? Sure. Why should they hassle with antivaxxers when they don't need to?
The market will operate here. It already is. |
I really don’t think there is one, except for a very small number of self employed service providers (like the aforementioned stylist and masseuse) |
It is far more of a hassle and just plain awkward to require someone to show proof of a Covid vaccine before an appointment is made or service given |
Whatever. All the anti-vax folks benefit from the suppression of the virus brought on by vaccines in spite of their fears and whining and negativity like all anti-vaxxers always have and always will. |
