I think its likely that Beatrice and Eugenie come just to take heat off Andrew who will definitely come. Fergie isn't coming.

The Tindalls should come but Zara just gave birth to an early baby like...two weeks ago so IDK.

Definitely Louise and James. No on Archie, Louis, Charlotte, and George.

Zara was up and taking walks a few hours after giving birth to the newest baby so that wouldn’t stop her from attending.

The funeral in Windsor is a 2-hour drive from her mother's home in Gatcombe. You think she'll drive with a nursing 2-week-old that far? I'm asking. Maybe they'll all fly. But technically she should be on bedrest, no?

Bedrest - why? Did she have a c-section? Even then you're supposed to get up and walk around ASAP.

Umm okay that is weird. Like weird weird.

Anyone want to tell us the significance of the number 9?

His wife is 7 1/2 months pregnant in a pandemic which has terrible consequences for birthing mothers. I wouldn't blame him if he didn't.

Also British funeral restrictions limit to 15 - not even sure if that includes the Queen's servants or not - she's always surrounded by dozens.

Even if they're nice and say that the 15 limit is just for the family mourners and the priest....that's 5 empty spots when you ignore Anne's absent husband and ALL of Prince Phillip's relatives who are direct descendants of the union between him & Elizabeth.

Bottom line - its a tight list.

Anne's absent husband? He's not absent at all, he goes to all of the family events. He's just not a working royal.

I've never heard of a royal couple where half of the couple doesn't work at all...but you're right - he was there at Princess Eugenie's wedding by Anne's side.

Princess Anne looks good in this photo. Her face reflects her age, but she looks both elegant and svelte.

Would you stop with the age-shaming. There should be no 'but' in your sentence. She looks both elegant and svelte. How old her face looks has nothing to do with it.

The firm 10 (plus Archbishop):
The Queen
Prince Charles
Duchess Camilla
Prince Andrew
Princess Anne
Capt. Lawrence
Prince Edward
Countess Sophie
Prince William
Duchess Kate
Archbishop of Canterbury (religious leader)

4 other possibles - Eugenie and Zara both are post-partum in a pandemic. Meghan is heavily pregnant in a pandemic. I don’t think their spouses will show without them.

Holy heck is this what you do for fun?

If it’s a private funeral we won’t know who attends.

If the Queen wants a big funeral then they will delay it.

A) It's being live televised

B) They can't delay it - Covid restrictions are strict in the UK through May 17th. What do you think the Queen's going to do - freeze him?

What day is the funeral? I want to watch.

Peace to Queen Elizabeth and the family.

I think the palace got in touch - they changed it

That's too bad. I like the bathing suit photo. (It's not a Speedo.) He was a vigorous, athletic, action-oriented man, and this photo captures that. It's the only one that reflects him, and not his position as the husband of the queen.

I agree so much with this. It had to be hard living in the Queen’s shadow.

Next Saturday at 3pm. 30 people will be in attendance. It is going to be televised.

Bedrest a month after a normal vaginal birth? What century are you posting from?

What science did you study that 2 weeks equals a month?

This is who I bet will be in attendance (from the Royal Family):

The Queen, Prince Charles, Duchess of Cornwall, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Duke of Sussex, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward, Countess of Wessex, Lady Louis, James, Viscount Severn, Princess Anne, Timothy Laurence, Zara Tindall, Mike Tindall, Peter Phillips, Princess Eugenie, Jack Brooksbank, Princess Beatrice, Edo Mapelli Mozzi, possibly the Duke and Duchess of Kent

Not part of the RF: Prince Philip's private secretary, a few long-time staff, Boris Johnson, Archbishop of Canterbury

What is this - the 1920s? Bed rest? Ridiculous. If she is breastfeeding she can easily pump and leave the baby at home. If she brings the baby, she can time a 2 hour drive quite easily

They've announced that the Secretary of the Navy might be coming in tribute to Phillip. Otherwise - I agree. What about the Gloucesters though?

And what did you study that advocates any kind of bedrest after a normal vaginal birth?

How strange. They're saying his funeral date will be next Saturday, April 17th. But he'll have 30 mourners not 15.

His funeral will be on my wedding anniversary. My DH died in 2020 unexpectedly. The circle of life is large.
