Realistically at u15-19 where are sprit players going to go. Bryc FCV and McLean don't need players at those age groups, very few would make those teams. VDA and Arlington?

Realistically, that's not correct. The bottom 25 percent of every roster is up for grabs. Teams always looking to improve their depth. The vast majority of Spirit kids will find an ECNL team. Realistically speaking.

That's a little ambitious for a the level of play Spirit has put forward so far - for the vast majority of players realistically.

Disagree with this. They aren’t changing ownership every year. This is directly related to that. If the decision is to continue, then there’s no more reason to re-evaluate yearly any more so than other small club environments. I can think of a few others who are top heavy with a nonexistent u little pipeline and rec environment to lean on.

But that could be said for every club with an ECNL/DA team, to be fair. There is no guaranty that any club will be in existence a year from now, let alone a guaranty that the ECNL league or DA league will be in existence a year from now. Anything is technically possible.

If Spirit makes a decision to keep their DA program, then I would not bet that the owner is going to change his mind a year from now and disband it. I get that he could theoretically could do so, but it would not be likely. More likely would be Spirit or the NWSL going bankrupt and shutting down. But again, expect the typical World Cup boost in attendance this coming season.

I agree with this view as well. If Jill Ellis can keep it together then this year and next will be very good years for NWSL and the Spirit.

It’s clear you don’t know the reasons. I get that you are blinded by your disdain for WS, but this came up because of the new owner’s doubts about running the DA programs, not how “awesome” the programs may or may not be. If it were up to him alone, with no consequence to the bigger picture and ramifications to US Soccer/DA, then both programs could be cut. That’s still a possibility; neither has announced ID sessions. And that has nothing to do with awesomeness or results, it has everything to do with the whims of the new guy.

There are plenty of WS parents who are happy with the programs and upset that this is a possibility. If you don’t find worth there, no need to stick around here and push your campaign against programs that have a decent possibility of closing down. Go and pump your club of choice.
