| 18:23, so funny that you think your status as grandchild of someone who experienced discriminated gives you credibility. Some of us experience it directly. |
You're missing the point. I am a liberal and I don't believe that Nazi beliefs are okay. But I also don't think that the victims are saints because they are liberals. I think both sets of parents made some bad choices and now here we all are. |
| So the mom approached it wrong and derserved to be murdered?!? |
Again, you are missing the point. The prior poster (you?) was attempting to assert that Trump is responsible for all the hate. My point is that this country has had hate for centuries. And, yes, since you asked, I've also experienced discrimination myself. Since that wasn't relevant I didn't mention it. Please learn to read. |
Do you know the family or are you assuming? |
Certainly no one deserves to be murdered. However, based on what we've read in the paper about her actions, it is safe to say that as time goes on we will all see that the mom made some significant errors in the way she handled the situation and that, in turn, caused the children to make their own bad choices. |
I'm totally going off of what I've read about the situation - thus the "probably" - yes it is speculation that the kid was gone a lot, I do not know that for a fact. I have never met any of these people. I just feel that some posters are assuming that this boy's parents handed him a gun and told him to go play in the street. I don't think that's a fair assumption to make about total strangers. |
So you will not accept that hate and discrimination that used to be hidden and unacceptable has found its way into the open since trump? Really? I’m guessing you’ll cry fake news, but check out the Southern Poverty Law Center which has kept stats on the steep increase in hate crimes and actions since inauguration. Things are different now and we need Americans to realize it and call it out. |
The mom probably was trying to get this handled over the break while school was out and her daughter was safe at home with adults present. She used no nonsense, serious language when talking to the school about this boy and made it clear that she considered this boy to be a big problem. By focusing on the neo natzi aspect she was making this the school's problem, too. Her daughter was at risk and she was doing everything she could to distance her baby girl from that boy. |
Oh my goodness. So the mom made the boy kill her. Wow. |

It seems to me that everyone is trying to define the families as so different from them so they can claim this couldn’t POSSIBLY happen in their house/neighborhood/etc.
Except it can. Don’t fool yourselves. You can only do your best to keep your family safe and raise your children well but you can’t control what goes on outside. This could have been any of us. They are just like all of us. All of everyone’s assignment of blame is just to distance themself from the tragedy. You can’t pay tuition out of this You can’t buy a bigger house and get away The evil is outside your door That’s the reality. So instead of playing Monday morning quarterback with someone else’s tragedy, what are you going to do to ensure you aren’t next? |
| Racist trolls are very active on social media. Its how they increase their numbers. |
This. I don't care about the politics of anyone but the shooter, since those politics apparently had something to do with his crime. I truly hope this is just crazy trolls who are defending the shooter or criticizing the victims. If these sentiments are actually coming from this website's intended demographic (DC area parents), I weep for this community. |
And they’re probably coming here from a Reddit and Fairfax underground. FU loves to make racist “jokes” about all the liberals in Reston. If those assholes hate Reston, then I’m glad to live here. |
No but you Democrats aren't going to get anywhere by screaming "Racist! Nazi!" at everyone who disagrees with you politically. |
